<p>Evil child molester bludgeoned an 8-year-old boy to death with a hammer in California as the little boy tried to protect his younger sister from his assault.<br />
Dante Daniels, who had just started the third grade at South Sacramento&#8217;s Oakridge Elementary, was brutally beaten with a hammer during the early morning of Sept. 1. by his mother&#8217;s abusive ex-boyfriend. Dante suffered severe brain trauma from the beating doctors could not save him. He died from his injuries six days later, <a href="http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/crime/article173643211.html">Sacramento Bee</a> reports.<br />
Deandre Chaney Jr. was arraigned Friday on murder and attempted murder charges in the September 1 hammer attack at his ex-girlfriend’s Meadowview home, disturbingly Chaney also sexually violated one of the children, prosecutors said.<br />
<a href="http://fox40.com/2017/09/21/grieving-grandmother-speaks-out-after-hammer-attack-kills-her-grandson-injures-her-daughter-and-granddaughter/">Fox 40 </a>quotes a criminal complaint stating that Dante met the tragic fate when he attempted to stop 23-year-old Deandre Chaney Jr. who was performing a criminal lewd act on his 7-year-old sister.<br />
Chaney, who pled no contest last year to a charge of failing to register as a sex offender, was the ex-boyfriend of Dante&#8217;s mother, 28-year-old Elizabeth Salone.<br />
&#8220;The guy beat my grandson with a hammer,&#8221; Monique Brown, the children&#8217;s grandmother told Fox 40. &#8220;Down to his spine. They couldn&#8217;t save his brain.&#8221;<br />
The criminal complaint states that the assailant poured lighter fluid on his ex during the attack, and at point turned the hammer and a knife on Salone and the molestation victim.</p>

According to an arrest warrant, the children were home alone with Chaney when the attack happened. Elizabeth Salone had asked him to watch her children while she took her brother to work.<br />
When she returned home, she heard one of her children crying. Salone told detectives that she was &#8220;struck at least three times&#8221; with a hammer from behind as she went to check on her child. Chaney then tied her up and poured lighter fluid on her.<br />
Chaney reportedly stole dome items from the homebefore fleeing the scene in the victim&#8217;s vehicle. Authorities arrested the fugitive a day later in Nevada.He was hiding in someone&#8217;s backyard.<br />
Salone and her daughter survived, but her left eye was severely damaged during the attack.</p>

<p>&#8220;She will probably never see out of her left eye,&#8221; Brown said of her daughter&#8217;s injuries. &#8220;My granddaughter will need a lot of help,&#8221; Brown added.<br />
Chaney was arraigned on murder, attempted murder and charged with lewd acts with a child under 14.<br />
The family started a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/wtmdy-tragedy">GoFundMe</a> as Salone and her daughter with their medical bills</p>
