<p class="speakable-p-1 p-text">An Ohio man<a href="http://cin.ci/2yFZ5hA"> pleaded guilty Tuesday to raping his 63-year-old mother</a> and will serve 11 years in prison. The Cincinnati man allegedly raped his mother and broke her neck earlier this year after an argument about money.<br />
As the judge read the terms of the plea, the Cincinnati man, 46, shocked both sides when he said he was not guilty of the charges, despite signing the agreement minutes beforehand.<br />
&#8220;What is your plea to count 1, the offense of felonious assault &#8230; guilty or not guilty?&#8221; Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Charles Kubicki said.<br />
&#8220;Not guilty. I take my plea back. I want to go to trial with this,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s all bogus and lies.&#8221;<br />
The defendant and his attorney, Edward Keller, talked for a few minutes then again stood before the judge. Keller said his client was having trouble with the idea of a long prison sentence.<br />
&#8220;He&#8217;s having a hard time wrapping his mind around that,&#8221; Keller said.<br />
The man went on to plead guilty to charges of rape, felonious assault and kidnapping.<br />
&#8220;Are you satisfied with your terms?&#8221; Kubicki said.<br />
&#8220;No I&#8217;m not, but yes I am,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I am satisfied.&#8221;<br />
In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped charges of attempted rape and abduction for the attack that happened earlier this year.<br />
&#8220;This is a bad situation. I feel bad about the whole incident. But I don&#8217;t even know what happened. I blacked out, somebody slipped me something in my drink. I don&#8217;t even know what was going on. I just don&#8217;t know,&#8221; he said to the judge.<br />
The 46-year-old suspect, according to court documents <a href="https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2017/10/23/documents-man-raped-his-mother-broke-her-neck/792298001/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited by the Cincinnati Enquirer</a>, “dragged her around the home, punching her in the face and body” during the brutal attack in March. The suspect also “forcibly raped her” and left his mother with serious injuries including a fractured vertebra in her neck, bruises, cuts and bite marks on her inner thighs and back, the documents show.</p>

<p class="speakable-p-1 p-text">To protect the victim&#8217;s identity of the mother, a sex crimes victim, the suspect&#8217;s identity has also not been revealed.<br />
The suspect faced charges of rape, felonious assault and kidnapping.<br />
Assistant prosecutor Anne Flanagan said that during the assault, the victim suffered a broken neck. The mother&#8217;s DNA also was recovered from the defendant&#8217;s genitals after the rape, Flanagan said.<br />
Prior to jury selection, a prosecutor told Judge Charles Kubicki that the victim ran naked to a neighbour&#8217;s house for help after the alleged assault, but was stopped by the suspect, who grabbed his mother and threw her “back over the fence,” a prosecutor said.<br />
The victim later called police when he fell asleep inside the home. He was still asleep when cops arrived to arrest him.<br />
He told police he couldn’t remember what happened and claimed he had no knowledge as to how his mother sustained her injuries.<br />
Upon his release from jail in March, he returned to his mother’s house and “tried to gain entry,” according to a motion by prosecutors to increase his bond.<br />
The suspect was blocked from entering the home by relatives and a judge later increased his bond to $500,000 on March 10. He’s been in custody since then.<br />
According to prosecutors, the mother was not involved in the case recently due to &#8220;affection for her son.&#8221;</p>
