Authorities say they have arrested a 15-year-old girl and her 21-year-old boyfriend in the shooting death of her father Monday afternoon in Tonopah, Arizona.
The Arizona Republic reports that the teen girl reported the shooting Monday afternoon claiming an ex-boyfriend gunned down her 59-year-old father in Tonapah.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced 59-year-old John Norton dead at his home.
The teen called 911 just before 1 p.m. Monday to report that she witnessed her ex-boyfriend shoot her father. She told dispatchers that she and her little sister fled the residence after the shooting.
After speaking with witnesses, investigators began to suspect that the 15-year-old and her current boyfriend, Daniel Stroh, were involved in the murder. The teen and her 21-year-old boyfriend spent at least several days plotting Norton’s murder, according to police.
The couple later confessed to the crime while being interviewed, deputies said.
The victim’s daughter was booked at Durango Juvenile Detention Facility on charges for conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence. Police have not released her name because she is a juvenile.
Stroh was detained at Fourth Avenue Jail on suspicion of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence.
