<p>An upstate New York woman Wednesday pled guilty to 2nd degree murder in connection to the death of her mother, Michele Neurauter after she bowed to an ultimatum issued to her last August by her dad: &#8216;It’s me or your mother,&#8217; police say.<br />
<a href="http://www.weny.com/story/37672966/karrie-neurauter-pleads-guilty-to-murder-in-death-of-her-mother">WENY </a>reports that Lloyd Neurauter warned his 20-year-old daughter Karrie Neurauter, that he would kill himself, but she could stop that by helping him murder his ex-wife Michele, who is also Karrie’s mom.<br />
He allegedly complained to his daughter that he didn’t want to pay alimony and child support anymore, police say. He also wanted to get custody of his youngest kid. In addition to Karrie, Lloyd and Michele Neurauter had an older daughter and a younger daughter who still lived with Michele and was present at the time of the alleged murder.</p>

<p>Karrie admitted in court that she agreed to go along with the murder plot in August, 2017, while maintaining that she didn’t physically participate in the killing of her 46-year-old-mother.<br />
Instead, the 20-year-old said, she drove Lloyd to and from her mother’s home in Corning, New York, and tried to cover up the murder as a suicide by tampering with the scene.<br />
During her plea, Karrie also admitted to disconnecting various electronic devices within the home to hide her father&#8217;s presence, and distracting her younger sister during the slaying.</p>

<p>Lloyd allegedly strangled Michele in an upstairs bedroom, as Karrie distracted her younger sister who was in the house during the killing, according to police reports.<br />
She said in court that she also helped stage her mother&#8217;s death as a suicide and told police a false story in an effort to cover up the crime, as directed by her father.<br />
Police say they received a call about “suspicious circumstances” at the Corning house in August, according to the Star Gazette, and arrested Karrie and Lloyd in January after an investigation.</p>

<p>Karrie, who was a fourth year student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, now faces up to 15 years in prison as a part of her plea deal. She will also testify against her father as a part of her deal.<br />
Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker said in court that investigators now trust Karrie’s testimony because she passed a lie detector test. She remains in jail for sentencing.<br />
Michele Neurauter, friends and family said, was the victim of domestic abuse who fought very hard to keep her children away from an abusive Lloyd. Police in Corning, NY, said they had answered a number of domestic calls at the Neurauter home in the past.<br />
Lloyd Neurauter is facing a nine-count felony indictment that included charges of first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first degree burglary and tampering with evidence. He also faces several misdemeanors.<br />
He pled not guilty in late February, and his trial is set to begin Sept. 24. The charges could result in life sentence without the possibility of parole if he is found guilty.</p>
