<p class="mol-para-with-font">A 23-year-old man from California was killed while riding as a passenger in his wife&#8217;s car on Tuesday after police say someone intentionally threw a boulder from an overpass in Pasadena that crashed through the windshield.<br />
The deadly incident took place just before 9pm on Tuesday. Christopher ‘Cris’ Lopez was traveling west in his wife&#8217;s 2017 Toyota Corolla along 134 Freeway and passing under the Orange Grove Boulevard overpass when an identified person hurled a 30-to-35-pound rock at the vehicle below.<br />
Cris Lopez had just learned his wife was pregnant shortly before he was struck by the heavy projectile, suffering fatal injuries.<br />
21-year-old Guadalupe Gutierrez immediately rushed her husband to Glendale Adventist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead less than 40 minutes after the attack, reported <a class="class" href="http://ktla.com/2018/03/15/person-of-interest-sought-after-boulder-apparently-thrown-onto-134-freeway-kills-passenger-in-vehicle/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">KTLA</a>.<br />
His mother-in-law and a four-year-old girl also travelling in the car were unharmed.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Lopez was traveling west in his wife&#8217;s 2017 Toyota Corolla along 134 Freeway and passing under the Orange Grove Boulevard overpass when an unidentified person hurled the rock.<br />
According to the description of a <a class="class" href="https://www.gofundme.com/chris-lopez-funeral" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">GoFundMe </a>campaign launched by a friend, the boulder shattered all the bones in Lopez&#8217;s chest and smashed his jaw.</p>

Investigators are now looking for information that could lead to the arrest of the culprit, who could be facing murder charges.<br />
Lopez, who worked as a barista [right] leaves behind his young widow and their daughter.Friends of the victim took to Facebook on Thursday to pay tribute to the young husband and father, who was described as an &#8216;amazing man.&#8217;<br />
There have been several similar incidents involving rock throwing in recent years.</p>
