Laquisha Jones was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday night for her part in the Fourth of July beatdown that left a 92-year-old man with broken ribs, a battered face and bruises all over his body, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LosAngelesCountySheriffsDepartment/photos/a.227394993954088.77910.225060950854159/2279764638717103/?type=3&;amp;theater">the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said</a>.</p>

<div class="module-title inline">The victim, Mexico native Rodolfo Rodriguez, had gone out for a walk on Independence Day in his Los Angeles neighborhood when he bumped into a little girl as he tried to pass her and her mom, according to his family.<br />
He was then struck from behind with a piece of cement and fell to the ground, Sheriff’s Detective Matt Luna <a href="http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-arrest-south-la-20180711-story.html">told the Los Angeles Times</a>.<br />
Neighbor Misbel Borjas, who witnessed the attack from her car, said the woman yelled: “Go back to your country,” or “Go back to Mexico” at Rodriguez.<br />
“It was racist,” she said.<br />
As Jones, 30, allegedly went on the tirade, four men ran up and stomped Rodriguez, Borjas said. However, deputies said they determined this was not “a hate-related incident”.<br />
Rodriguez, who is a legal US resident, was released from the hospital, his family said.<br />
“We just ask that there’s justice,” said his daughter, Aurelia Rodriguez. “A judge is going to decide what she will pay for what she did. I hope people know that they can’t just hit someone, insult someone, threaten someone — that if someone does something like this, they’re going to pay for it.”<br />
Jones is being held in Los Angeles County Jail lieu of $200,000 bail.</div>
