Azzie Watson, 25, of Independence, was charged on Tuesday with child abuse and endangerment. Her bond was set at $75,000.
According to court documents, Watson’s boyfriend recorded the mother-of-two  talking about repeatedly taking her daughter  as many as 10 times to a home in east Kansas City where she witnessed two men sexually assaulting the child.
She says on the recording that she watched the sexual assaults and called herself ‘a coward.’
The disturbing case began unfolding on June 29, when police were called to a hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, for a report of a rape, according to Kansas City Star.
While at the hospital, police were handed the recording of Watson’s alleged confession, leading to her arrest on an unrelated charge of failure to appear in court.
Court documents say when interviewed by detectives in jail last week, Watson claimed that what she said in the recording was a lie because she was scared of her boyfriend.
Detectives informed the mother-of-two that her two-year-old daughter tested positive for an STD and also had methamphetamine in her system.

The 2-year-old girl had no “daddy,” but some terror of men came crying up when her new foster parent tried to change her diaper.
“Daddy hurt me,” she cried. “Daddy, stop being mean. Daddy, it hurts.”
The horrors that foster parent discovered June 29 were the worst she had ever seen, according to Kansas City police.
The 2-year-old girl had been repeatedly raped.
Furthermore, the girl and her 1-year-old brother had scarred and punctured feet.
Both toddlers were found to have foreign metal objects lodged in their feet, apparently from walking barefoot inside their mother’s home littered with debris.
Watson said she did not know how her daughter contracted a sexually transmitted disease.

Both of her children’s have been living with a foster parent since June, and it was the siblings’ caregiver who took them to the hospital on June 29 after the two-year-old girl, who never met her father, told the woman as she was changing her diaper, ‘Daddy hurt me.’
Azzie C. Watson  faces three counts of abuse or neglect and one count of endangerment because her children allegedly lived in the presence of methamphetamine and amphetamine.
Watson’s 43-year-old boyfriend, Charles D. Green, is also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for possessing methamphetamine in the presence of both children.
So far, no additional suspects have been arrested in connection to the child’s rape.

When investigators spoke with Watson in an interview room at the jail July 10., she recanted her confession, claiming the recording was not true. That she had felt threatened by her boyfriend and told him lies “because he wasn’t believing the truth,” the investigator’s statement said.
Watson told investigators that she did not take her children to another home and that she and her children were living with Green at his motorcycle shop on U.S. 40 in Independence.
Watson said may have happened from walking around without shoes in the motorcycle shop, adding that d her children called he live-in, Charles Green, “Daddy.”
A year ago, Watson who is from Great Bend, Kan., was arrested and charged in Wyandotte County with felony drug distribution. Free on bond, she failed to appear in court for her preliminary hearing in December, which tagged on a contempt of court charge and a warrant for her arrest.
Currently, she’s jailed on the pending Wyandotte County charges, and remains in custody in Wyandotte County on a $20,000 bond, while Kansas City police investigate the new child abuse and neglect charges,.
Significantly, the foster parent who took in Watson’s children saw something else she’d never seen before, she told police. Despite their fear, she said, neither of the children ever asked for their mother. She said she had never housed foster children who did not ask for their parent.
