<div>An inebriated South Carolina woman who was pulled over for running a stop sign and speeding over the weekend thought she could get police to let her go by listing what she deemed her many achievements, among them that she was a &#8216;very clean, thoroughbred, white girl.&#8217;<br />
But officers with the Bluffton Police Department were unimpressed by Lauren Cutshaw&#8217;s supposed accolades and arrested her anyway for traffic violations and marijuana possession, just before 2am on Saturday.<br />
According to an arrest report, Cutshaw, 32, was stopped on Boundary Street in Bluffton after she was observed going 30mph over the speed limit and blowing past a stop sign.</div>

<div>When officers approached the Cutshaw&#8217;s vehicle, they noticed that her eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy. She was slurring her speech and the interior of her car reeked of alcohol.</div>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Cutshaw, who works as a real estate agent, told police she had only imbibed two glasses of wine. Pressed to specify how full were the glasses of wine, Cutshaw, who turns 33 on Thursday, replied, &#8216;I mean, I was celebrating my birthday.&#8217;<br />
Cutshaw reportedly failed field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer showed that her blood alcohol level was .18, which is more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 in South Carolina.<br />
The <a class="class" href="https://www.islandpacket.com/news/local/crime/article216168760.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Island Packet</a>, reports that Cutshaw then attempted to talk her way out of imminent arrest, telling the officers that she had perfect grades her whole life, she was a cheerleader and a sorority girl, she attended a &#8216;high accredited university&#8217; and was a member of the National Honor Society,’ and she mentioned her partner is a police officer</p>

<div>Unmoved, officers went ahead and booked Cutshaw on charges of driving under the influence, speeding, disregarding a stop sign, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.</div>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Apparently desperate to avoid getting a jail cell, Cutshaw went on to include in her long list of her perceived accomplishments that she is a &#8216;white, clean girl.&#8217;<br />
When an officer asked how that information was relevant to the matter at hand, she reportedly replied, ‘You&#8217;re a cop, you should know what that means.&#8217;<br />
‘Making statements such as these as a means to justify not being arrested are unusual in my experience as a law enforcement officer and I believe further demonstrate the suspect’s level of intoxication,’ the officer wrote in the report.<br />
Having failed to sway police, Custhaw was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center on charges of driving under the influence, speeding, disregarding a stop sign, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.<br />
According to her LinkedIn page, Custhaw has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Louisiana State University, where she was philanthropy chairman at Delta Zeta sorority.<br />
The networking site indicates that Cutshaw was hired in June as a real estate adviser with Engel &; Volkers Hilton Head- Bluffton. Currently her name is no longer listed on the company&#8217;s site.</p>
