<p class="article__content article__content--intro">Police in the British midlands have raided a home in the hunt for a shopkeeper who is on the run after allegedly stabbing his ex-lover and her mum to death in Solihull.<br />
Raneem Oudeh, 22 and Khaola Saleem, 49, &#8220;screamed like animals&#8221; after being stabbed yards from their home in the early hours of Monday.</p>

<p>Police are hunting shop worker Janbaz Tarin 21, on suspicion of murdering the women, who are originally from Damascus, Syria, and believed to have moved to the UK around 14 years ago.<br />
Their bloodied bodies were found on a grass verge on the quiet affluent housing estate by West Midlands Police at around 12.30am on Monday.<br />
Wanted Tarin claims on his Facebook page to be a cashier and has posted several pictures of himself working behind the counter at a convenience store.<br />
He has also posted messages of support his homeland including “Save Syria” and signed petitions in support of Palestine.</p>

<p>Tonight cops raided an address where Tarin&#8217;s family are believed to live around five miles away in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham.<br />
Pictures showed officers standing outside the property moments after they booted down the door of the house where relatives were inside.<br />
It&#8217;s believed the suspect, who police are urging the public not to approach, wasn&#8217;t at the house.<br />
Residents on the street described Janbaz as “dodgy” and confirmed that he was the eldest brother in his family.</p>

<p>Grieving family members of the women were seen entering and leaving their home yesterday.<br />
In a statement, they said: &#8220;Our family is devastated with the loss of our loved ones.<br />
&#8220;We would like to give thanks for all the love and support we have received, we kindly request that our privacy is respected at this difficult time.&#8221;<br />
A relative, who asked not to be named, came to deliver a meal of rice to other family members.</p>

<p>He said: &#8220;We are going to request that the family are given a bit of space, that is all I can say.&#8221;<br />
Neighbours said they sometimes heard noisy rows coming from the house where the victims lived.<br />
An elderly neighbour said Raneem was a young mum herself with a toddler aged around 15 months old and believed her to be a student. <a href="https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/mother-daughter-killed-solihull-street-15078536" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to neighbours</a>, &#8220;She was at college so she was in and out, and then the next thing we know she’s pregnant.<br />
&#8220;She sometimes would wear a head scarf other days have her hair all flowing.<br />
&#8220;We saw a white van around there a few times and she was often talking to the man in it.&#8221;<br />
The neighbour said that as well as Raneem&#8217;s child, there were two other young children living at the house &#8211; a teenager and a young boy aged around eight or nine.</p>

<p>Det Insp Caroline Corfield, of West Midlands Police, said: “We’ve been working flat out to apprehend Tarin since the early hours of this morning, following up a number of lines of enquiry.<br />
“As we have so far not been able to locate Tarin, I’m now asking for the public’s help in tracing him.<br />
If anyone knows where he is or thinks they may have seen him, I’d urge them to ring 999 immediately.<br />
“If there’s anyone out there who may be shielding him through a sense of misguided loyalty, they need to be aware that they are committing an offence and will be prosecuted.<br />
“My message to Tarin would be that it’s vitally important that we get to speak to you as soon as possible, so please do the right thing and let us know where you are.”</p>

<p>One woman, who lives nearby said: &#8220;I thought it was foxes screaming. She was absolutely screaming her head off.<br />
&#8220;He wasn&#8217;t speaking English, that&#8217;s for sure. He shouted something and then ran off.<br />
&#8220;There was a lot of screaming and shouting and then I saw the guy run off. About a minute later I saw him leave in a van.&#8221;</p>
