<div>A gunman in California <a class="js-tl" href="https://www.kron4.com/news/california/multiple-people-shot-near-bakersfield-business/1438479662" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">killed himself on Wednesday night</a> after going on a deadly rampage killing five other people including his wife.<br />
The shooter is yet to be named. He started his killing spree at a trucking company in Bakersfield at around 5.15pm where he arrived with his wife and confronted a man inside.<br />
After arguing with the man, he shot him then turned the gun on his wife, killing her. A witness who entered the premises and saw what was happening fled and he gave chase.<br />
Yards away, he shot the witness, his third victim, leaving him dead on a lot outside of Bear Mountain Sports.<br />
The gunman then fled to a home, 1.8miles away, where he shot 32-year-old Laura Garcia. Laura and her father, Eliseo Garcia were both killed at their family’s home on Breckenridge Road.</div>

<p>He did not travel far, going only 1.2 miles where he then carjacked a woman and her daughter. The woman and child escaped and the man drove to Edison Highway where a sheriff’s deputy saw him.<br />
The gunman saw the deputy and pulled into a lot. When the deputy confronted him at gunpoint the man shot himself in the chest and died at the scene.</p>
<p>By then, with five dead people in his wake, police were tracking him. He killed himself as a cop car approached on Edison Highway.</p></div>

Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood said the mass shooting had become &#8216;the new normal&#8217; around the country.<br />
&#8216;Six people lost their lives in a very short amount of time. This is the new normal.&#8217;<br />
Witnesses have told how after the first shots rang out, someone yelled in Spanish: &#8216;Policía! Policía! There’s a crazy man with a gun!&#8217;</div>
