<div>In her account of the incident, Guyger said after she got off her shift at 10 pm, she climbed one floor higher than her third floor apartment to an entrance door, she thought was hers. pushed through a door that was half ajar and semi dark. that she saw what she imagined was an intruder, who proceeded to ignore her verbal commands. Subsequently she drew her weapon and fired at the supposed burglar.</div>
<div>her account was contradicted by two witnesses in neighboring apartments who overheard the encounter while up reading a book, heard pounding on a door with a female voice insistently saying &#8216;Let me in!, let me in!&#8217;, followed by gunshots.<br />
Seconds later, they say they heard a man&#8217;s voice yelling: &#8216;Oh my God, why did you do that?&#8217;<br />
The witnesses said they believed those were Jean&#8217;s final words.<br />
The account by this witness was corroborated by another witness from another apartment who similarly overhead the encounter.<br />
This version of events which contradicts officer Guyger&#8217;s account that she met the door ajar and walked in on a supposed burglar</div>

Guyger was released on a $300,000 bond that was posted by an attorney not long after she was taken into custody.<br />
Jean, a banking associate who was afraid of being racially profiled in Texas, was at home<br />
alone when she shot him.<br />
Skeptics have poked hole in the cop&#8217;s story is that she arrived at the apartment thinking it was hers after a shift and found the front door ajar.</p>

<div>When she went inside, she said she saw his silhouette and thought he was an intruder in her home. Guyger claimed she issued verbal commands but that he ignored him.</div>

Interior shots of jean&#8217;s apartment after the shooting show a half-eaten cereal bowl Jean was eating from a well as a book he may have been reading. The question being why a normal person would be eating and reading in total darkness.<br />
The doors in the complex were all identified by well-lit neon lights as well.<br />
Jean&#8217;s family and the neighbors accounts have cast doubt on her version of events.<br />
Witnesses who were in the building at the time say they heard a woman banging on a door that was supposedly ajar, and demanding &#8216;Let me in, let me in[to],&#8217; the home of a man she didn&#8217;t know, never met before, just seconds before the first shots rang out.<br />
After she fired the shots witnesses a male voice, not asking who she was, instead demanding &#8216;why did you do that?&#8217;<br />
The skepticism of the Jean family about receiving justice and a fair hearing from authorities was further buttressed when Dallas police claimed they found marijuana in his apartment afterwards.<br />
The family considered it an attempt to discredit him and protect his killer.</p>

The doors in the building are electronic and a green light flashes when it is unlocked.<br />
On Thursday, the victim&#8217;s family held a funeral in Texas to mourn their loss.<br />
There, relatives described Guyger as &#8216;quick-to-trigger&#8217; and lamented the fact that his death was caused by someone whose job is to &#8216;protect and serve.&#8217;<br />
Both sides say the pair had never met before Jean&#8217;s death.</div>
