Three people have been arrested after Brandon Arndt was found shot in the head Sept. 10 at the rear door of the manufactured home where he lived at Bob’s Trailer Court, 1915 Marion Road SE, lot 14. in Rochester, Minnesota.
The suspects, all grandchildren of an elderly hospitalized neighbor, are facing murder charges after shooting her neighbor in the face because they believed he’d hurt her.
Malcolm Jammal Woods, 27, and Kielah Shanae Parsons, 34, both of Rochester, appeared in court on Monday on second-degree murder charges in the death of Brandon Arndt.
Rochester police said 38-year-old Arndt had been helping his elderly neighbor, Rosetta Barnes, since she moved into the trailer court a month before. Arndt, helped the disabled 71-year-old with her medication and also did her groceries and odd jobs around the house.
On Sept. 8, the day before she was hospitalized, Arndt reportedly went over to check on Barnes after hearing her call for help, according to court documents.
There, he had given her water and her prescription pack, but she had declined when he offered to have her taken to hospital.

Police allege that two days after the incident, Woods and Parson knocked on neighbor Brandon Arndt’s door in the early hours of September 10, believing their grandmother Rosetta Barnes had been hospitalized because she’d overdosed on illegal drugs he’d given her, The Post Bulletin reported.
When he answered the door, police say Woods, who had covered his hands and feet in plastic bags, shot him in the face.
Charging documents allege after the shooting, he threw the bags into a trash can and sold the gun.
Arndt’s mother, who was at his home at the time of the shooting, told police her son and Barnes had known each other, and he’d been looking out for her since she moved in a month before.
The next day, a family member called her an ambulance after finding her in what Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin said was a ‘disturbing’ condition.
She was hospitalized soon after, leading the men to believe Arndt was responsible.
Multiple family members showed up at Arndt’s door that day accusing him of hurting Barnes, and he was reported to police, although there is no evidence of any wrongdoing on his part.
