Contradictions emerge as husband who killed Brazilian soccer player in a ‘moment of madness’ led police to spot where he dumped the body and threw the star’s severed genitals
An associate of suspect claims the businessman invited the victim to have sex with his wife Cristiana
The body of Daniel Correa Freitas was found in a bush in the Brazilian state of Parana – The 24-year-old Sao Paulo FC star was discovered with his genitals cut off, his head partially severed
Despite extending the invitation, Edison, who allegedly had snorted cocaine and taken ecstasy at the time, ‘changed his mind and in a jealous rage, attacked and killed the player’
35-year-old businessman Edison Brittes Jr first denied, then confessed to the killing claiming he caught Freitas raping his wife during a party in his own home
The revelation comes as Brittes Jr was caught in inconsistencies, again changing his story during police questioning on Wednesday
Thereafter he chose to remain silent in the interrogation when asked how the player had been killed
Police issued warrants for the 30 day temporary arrest of three teenage suspects – David da Silva, 18, Igor King and Eduardo da Silva, both 19
They’re alleged to have participated in the beating and death of the soccer star

Brittes has confessed to murdering the 24-year-old, claiming he had caught the footballer raping his wife, Cristiana, in their bedroom while others partied in his house. But detectives said they did not believe the athlete had carried out a sex attack.
In a new development, a person close to Edison alleged in an explosive interview that the businessman had invited the player to have sex with Cristiana. She allegedly agreed with the arrangement and the deed was meant to take place in the couple’s bedroom, in the early hours of the morning on October 27.
But the informant claimed when Brittes saw the pair were actually in bed and planning to sleep together he changed his mind and in a jealous rage attacked and killed the player.

The allegation was carried by Massa News website and made by an unidentified source in an online video. With his face concealed and his voice heavily disguised the young man claimed the information had come from a close family friend who Brittes had confided in.
‘He told me that [Edison] was crazy. He [Edison] invited Daniel to sleep with his wife,’ the anonymous person said.
‘The woman knew what was being set up and agreed with the deal,’ he claimed.
‘But after [Edison] saw that they were really in bed together he revolted and decided to kill Daniel.’
The nameless acquaintance also claimed that the suspect had apparently confessed to the friend he had snorted cocaine and taken ecstasy before the crime.

It comes as the 35-year-old businessman changed his story during police questioning on Wednesday and chose to stay silent in the interrogation when asked how the player had been killed.
