A 50-year-old tech company CEO, his wife, and their two young children were found dead at the scene of an ‘intentional’ mansion fire in an affluent New Jersey neighborhood on Tuesday, Nov 20. His wife, Jennifer, and their two children were found slain inside their home. And the home was on fire.
Wednesday morning, his brother and business partner Paul J. Caneiro was arrested and charged in connection to an earlier fire at his own home hours earlier also on Tuesday.
Paul was arrested and charged in connection to a fire at his own home 10 miles away, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Paul Caneiro’s Ocean Township home caught fire Tuesday morning, seven hours before his brother Keith’s Colts Neck house went up in flames.
The bodies of Keith Caneiro, his wife Jennifer Caneiro, 45, along with their son and daughter were discovered when firefighters responded to the mult-alarm fire at their $1.5million Colts Neck home on Tuesday.
Keith Caneiro was found dead in front of the home with a gunshot wound. Jennifer and her children were discovered dead inside the residence, ‘severely burned’, officials said.
The fire is being investigated as a case of arson.

Jennifer Caneiro and her two children were found inside the $1.5 million mansion on Willow Brook Road. The homeowner, Keith Caneiro himself was found shot to death outside the home, according to a source.
The arrest of Paul Caneiro deepens the mystery of the events that led to the two fires, and the grisly discovery of the four bodies.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, but law enforcement sources confirmed their identities to NJ.com.
County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said there was not threat to the public.
Prosecutors would not reveal whether a weapon was found or if the deaths are being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Firefighters responded to the fire around 12.45pm on Tuesday. Video showed smoke pouring from the roof while the mansion was ablaze.

Adding to the mystery surrounding the mansion blaze is the fact that Caneiro’s brother’s home caught on fire just hours beforehand.
A blaze was reported at the home of Keith’s brother and business partner, Paul Caneiro and his wife Susan Caneiro, around 5am on Tuesday morning. Paul’s home is located in Ocean Township, just about 10 miles away from Colts Neck.
A neighbor said they saw Paul and Susan at their home shortly after the fire broke out.
They said Paul ‘appeared to be upset and left a short time after’.
‘He said it must have been a gas leak, he had tears in his eyes. Susan was devastated,’ the neighbor said.
