<p class="mol-para-with-font">A former Connecticut special education teacher could face up to five years in prison after she admitted to having sex with two of her students.<br />
Laura Calladio Ramos, 32, pled no contest on Monday to sexually assaulting two of her special education students. She then violated a protective order by the courts prohibiting contact with the victims when she was stopped by a cop with one of the teens in her car.<br />
Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin told Ramos on Monday that he would sentence her to a maximum five years in prison when she is sentenced on January 25.<br />
Ramos, a former teacher at Central High School in Bridgeport, could have faced up to 25 years in prison if she was convicted during trial.<br />

Ramos was first arrested after an 18-year-old special education student told police he had sex with his teacher between December 2016 to April 2017.<br />
The teacher told police she had sex &#8216;a handful of times&#8217; with this student, most frequently in her car.<br />
A second special education student then told police that he had sex with Ramos, who resigned following her first arrest, multiple times.<br />
The student told police that he had gone to a restaurant with Ramos in April 2017 for dinner before they had sex in her car in the parking lot.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The student said he and Ramos then went into the restaurant&#8217;s &#8216;electrical room&#8217; and had sex. She later sent the boy a text saying it was the best sex she had ever had.<br />
With investigations proceeding, Ramos was arrested a second time after she was pulled over by police while driving her first victim to the beach.<br />
An officer had initially stopped the teacher, who had been ordered by the court not to have any contact with her victims, because he saw her talking on her cell phone.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">&#8216;You were going to the beach with a boy who was a subject of your case. That is completely reckless.&#8217;<br />
Devlin declined the prosecutor&#8217;s motion to revoke Ramos&#8217; bond but raised it from $50,000 to $250,000.<br />
She was also ordered to wear a GPS tracking anklet and could only leave her home to make her shifts as a waitress at a local restaurant.<br />
Ramos remains free on bond. Her attorney plans to comment for a lesser prison sentence.<br />
&#8216;We look forward to resolving this very difficult case,&#8217; Edward Gavin said at the Fairfield County Courthouse on Monday.<br />
&#8216;The court is giving us the opportunity to address an appropriate sentence and we will do so at the sentencing in January.&#8217;</p>
