<div>A man in New York who abandoned his trapped passenger in a burning car and hailed a yellow cab to make good his escape from an accident scene has been jailed.</div>
<div>Saeed Ahmad crashed his car as he was speeding on the westbound side of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, in NY, on Oct. 13, 2017. He then fled the scene as his close friend died, trapped in his burning car.</div>

<div>Ahmad, 24, pled his murder charge down to manslaughter, switching a possible life sentence to just four to 12 years in prison, a decision that left the victim’s family believing he got off easy.<br />In a cruel twist of fate, Ahmad&#8217;s betrayal was caught on cell phone video. The stunning video shows that as bright orange flames poured out of Ahmad’s luxury Infiniti G35 on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, the 24-year-old walked over to a yellow cab, and asked, “Can I get a ride?” getting into the back seat as the hack drove him to a nearby hospital.<br />Ahmad’s friend, Harleen Grewald, 25, meanwhile, burned to death in the passenger seat. <br />Firefighters extinguishing the blaze found her charred body inside the wreck. </div>
