<p>A &#8216;sexually deviant&#8217; couple who groomed and abused their children for their own sexual gratification, were jailed for a total of 39 years today.<br />

The married couple taught the children that it was &#8216;normal&#8217; to be naked in bed with them. Neither can be named for legal reasons.<br />
The woman, 55, was convicted on all charges after going on trial at Truro Crown Court last week and was jailed for 21 years.<br />
Her husband, who is now 50, has already admitted a host of sex charges including sexual activity with a child, indecent assaults and he was jailed for 18 years.</p>

<p>She was convicted of three indecent assaults on a male, three counts of sexual activity with a child, four counts of offering to supply Class B drugs, engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child and two charges of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.<br />
The abuse concerned five victims &#8211; four of their children and one of their friends &#8211; and included an 11-year-old boy being forced to have sex with his stepmother as his father watched and touched himself.<br />

The jury heard the couple &#8211; whose names cannot be revealed because it would identify the victims &#8211; met in 2000.<br />
Each had children and some went to live with the man and the woman in Cornwall.<br />
Prosecutor Heather Hope said:&#8221;During the time the children lived with them, when they were supposed to be loved, they were subjected to sexual abuse.&#8221;</p>

<p>She said the allegations came to light in 2017 when a male victim went to the police.<br />
Miss Hope said the male victim would sunbathe naked in the garden with his parents and be taken to nudist beaches.<br />
She added:&#8221;The first time he had sex with the defendant he was just eleven.&#8221;<br />
A female victim told the court that when she was aged eight or nine, the couple had full sex in front of her.<br />
Miss Hope said:&#8221;The defendant also taught her how to use a vibrator.&#8221;<br />
The prosecutor said: &#8220;The defendant denies having ever engaged in sexual activity with the boy and said she always had pants on when they were in bed. She denies having sex while (one of the girls) was in bed with them.<br />
&#8220;When asked about the sleep button (clitoris) and the vibrator she said that drugs had caused a drop in her normal boundaries. She agrees, looking back, that was wrong.<br />
&#8220;The prosecution say that both victims were sexually abused under the pretence that they were being educated.<br />
&#8220;The male victim was developed as a sexual plaything for sexual gratification.</p>

<p>&#8220;It is inconceivable that the defendant did not know the abuse her husband was perpetrating. They are both sexually deviant individuals with no moral compass who joined together to abuse these children.&#8221;<br />
The female victim told the jury her mother said if she had trouble sleeping she would touch herself sexually.<br />
&#8220;She called it my sleep button. I didn&#8217;t think it was weird until I was a bit older.<br />
&#8220;For 12 years I kept it to myself as I didn&#8217;t want my reputation to be tarnished by them, I love my mum&#8230;but she knew what was happening to me was wrong and she failed me there.&#8221;<br />

In cross examination, the distressed victim said her mum and stepfather would have sex in front of her and made no effort to stop.<br />
She said her mum taught her how to use a vibrator, demonstrating on herself.<br />
Judge Simon Carr said the case was &#8216;systemic sexual abuse of children in their care&#8217;.</p>
