On his way to jail Ontiveros admitted ‘ he was responsible for firing a weapon which resulted in Gomer’s fatal gunshot wound’

Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros, 33, from Mexico, reportedly admitted shooting dead Paige Gomer, 28, on Thursday night.
He has since been charged with first-degree murder.
It is not clear if Ontiveros and Gomer knew each other.
‘We are still actively involved in this investigation where an American citizen died in the hands of an illegal alien in Canadian County,’ said Sheriff Chris West of Canadian County.

On Thursday the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that one person is dead after a shooting Thursday night. Officials said people in two vehicles were reportedly shooting at each other for unknown reasons, near Highway 37 and South Karns Road in in rural southwest Canadian County.
A female passenger in one of the vehicles was shot in the chest. She was taken to a different location where the driver called for help. The victim was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Two suspects were taken into custody, along with what the alleged murder weapon.
33-year-old Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros Thursday night was charged with one count of murder in the first degree.

Investigators said sometime between 7 and 8 p.m., Ontiveros shot and killed Paige Gomer near Highway 37 and Karnes Road.
Authorities said Ontiveros fled the scene of the shooting but was apprehended around 9 p.m. Thursday night.
Ontiveros allegedly admitted to authorities, while en route to the Canadian County Jail, that he was responsible for the shooting that killed Gomer, according to the report.
“While we obtained an arrest warrant for a murder charge against Ontiveros, we are still actively involved in this investigation where an American citizen died at the hands of an illegal alien in Canadian County,” said Chris West, Canadian County Sheriff

Ontiveros is being held with no bond, and an ICE detainer is in place.
Gomer’s best friend, Sosha Christmas, has been remembering her.

‘We were supposed to meet up and I just never got the time to,’ said Christmas to KFOR. ‘It just shows live everyday like your last. She would always help me through the worst times. She always had your back always. She was just a phone call away.’
Christmas said Gomer leaves behind a daughter.
‘I sent people his mugshot and no one knows who he was,’ said Christmas speaking about the alleged killer, Ramon Ontiveros. ‘I just hope he never gets out.
‘I hope he never gets to see freedom again. I don’t know who he is, but I hope he gets what he deserves.’
