Prosecutors say Ludwig Paz, 51, pled guilty on Wednesday to attempted enterprise corruption and promoting prostitution.<br />
Paz</span></span><span style="font-size: inherit;"> and his wife both pled guilty to masterminding a multimillion-dollar prostitution and gambling ring with the help of seven current police officers, officials said Wednesday.</span><span style="font-size: inherit;"><br />
He is scheduled to get four to 12 years in prison when he&#8217;s sentenced June 27.</span></div>

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">One of the officers, Vice Detective Rene Samaniego, pled guilty earlier this month to passing the couple information on police procedures and scheduled raids to help them escape arrest.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Paz made sure any new clients who visited the brothel took off their clothes before they got inside, ruling out the chance that any undercover cops had come because police officers are not allowed to expose their genitals when dealing with prostitutes while on duty.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Over the course of 13 months, the scheme allegedly pocketed them $2million. The brothels charged patrons $40 for 15 minutes of sexual activity and $160 an hour.</span></div>

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Paz and his wife have enjoyed a lavish lifestyle over the last several years.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Social media photographs show them on South American vacations and in nightclubs surrounded by bottles of champagne.<br />

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Raspanti is accused of providing Paz with confidential police information in exchange for discounted sex at a brothel, and Failla is charged in connection with allegedly assisting Paz following a brothel raid.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Originally from Ecuador, Paz joined NYPD in 1990 as a beat cop working the 84th Precinct in Brooklyn Heights.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">After his promotion to detective on the Vice Squad, Paz had ample opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the world of illegal gambling and prostitution.</span></div>

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Paz retired from the NYPD in 2010, and it&#8217;s not clear when he remarried Arelis Peralta.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Police were first tipped off to the criminal enterprise in 2015, when someone on the force alerted investigators they suspected that someone involved in illegal activities was in conversations with an insider in the Vice Enforcement Division.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">The investigation moved slowly due to the need for absolute secrecy, to prevent corrupt cops from finding out that the operation was under scrutiny.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Peralta&#8217;s two adult daughters, who lived with the couple in Ozone Park, were also arrested in the probe.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">The daughters, Jarelis Guzman, 22 and Arisbel Guzman, 20, were released without bail.<br />
