<p class="mol-para-with-font">A New Jersey homicide detective has been charged with the murder of his three-month-old daughter. The Ewing police officer was arrested Wednesday morning on a murder charge accusing him of causing the traumatic injuries that killed his infant in December.<br />
Daniel Bannister, 31, was suspended from his job in December, 2018 pending an investigation into the death of his infant daughter, Hailey.<br />
But according to Mercer County prosecutors he has now been charged with her murder.<br />
Bannister&#8217;s wife Catherine Bannister, 29, was also charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, police said.<br />
Baby Hailey died after emergency services were called to her home on December 5, 2018 to reports of &#8216;an unresponsive three-month-old baby having difficulty breathing,&#8217; the police statement said.<br />
&#8216;Emergency medical technicians assessed the baby, who was not breathing and in cardiac arrest.&#8217;</p>
