<p class="mol-para-with-font">Two former soldiers have been arrested for the double murder of a husband and wife who were killed and robbed in Florida during a gun sale.<br />
Serafin &#8216;Danny&#8217; Lorenzo and Deana Kaye Lorenzo of Spring Hill, Florida. were found dead in a parking lot near the Galleria plaza in Estero, Florida on April 10, 2018, <a class="class" href="https://www.nbc-2.com/story/37920190/homicide-death-murder-investigation-estero" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NBC2 </a>reported.<br />
Danny, 53, had been shot seven times and his wife Deana, 51, had eleven bullet wounds, court documents revealed at the time.<br />
Alex Zwiefelhofer, 22, and Craig Lang, 29, have now been accused of robbing and murdering the couple in order to get money to travel to Venezuela.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">Danny and Deana had traveled to Lee County in order to buy guns from the soldiers after responding to an online advertisement from a man &#8216;named Jeremy&#8217;, a federal indictment said.</span></p>

<p>The two former US Army Soldiers who fought as mercenaries overseas have been indicted by a grand jury in connection to the double homicide.<br />
Craig Lang and Alex Zweifelhofer, who left the military on their own terms through being discharged or going AWOL, served together in the Azov Battalion, a far-right volunteer unit that accepted foreign fighters in their conflict against Russian supported insurrection in the eastern part of the Ukraine.<br />

Lorenzo, who were murdered in Lee County, Florida on April 10, 2018.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The Lorenzos had withdrawn $3,000 in cash for the purchase of four Glocks, two 9mm pistols and nine high-powered rifles, the <a class="class" href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/09/27/awol-soldiers-ukraine-kill-florida-couple/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Washington Post</a> reported.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">It is believed the soldiers then lured Danny and Deana to the parking lot of the Galleria in Estero on April 10, 2018, where they were robbed and killed.<br />
Both victims were shot several times. Serafin was shot seven times. Deana was shot 11 times, which was ruled the cause of death for both victims by medical examination.<br />
</span>The killer pair, who had both been discharged from the military, hoped to &#8216;participate in an armed conflict against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela&#8217;, a federal criminal complaint revealed.</p>

</span></span>Investigators combing through Zweiferlhofer’s internet search history revealed that he had researched ways to smuggle himself into South America, as well as reportedly looking up a movie scene (concerning ambushing a van) that “was consistent with the tactical approach of the shooters and the trajectory of the gunshot defects depicted in the movie.”<br />
