Cornwell told the <a class="class" href="https://www.pressconnects.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Binghamton Press &#038; Sun-Bulletin</a>: ‘We saw something that we haven&#8217;t seen before, but we saw two governments working together, law enforcement agencies working together.’</p>

&#8216;I mean it&#8217;s not over, and there will always be an emptiness that&#8217;s there, but it was nice to see that Nicaragua did a really professional, bang up job to get the job done.’If Tercero is ever extradited, he could still be prosecuted for Anderson’s death under the U.S. legal system.</p>

During a fit of jealousy, Tercero strangled Anderson and her body was later found partly tucked into his bed.<br />
After Haley was found dead, Tercero reportedly told his sister that he had done &#8216;something bad&#8217; and was a &#8216;disgrace to the family&#8217;.</p>

<a class="class" href="https://wbng.com/news/top-stories/2019/11/15/tercero-receives-maximum-sentence-in-murder-of-binghamton-university-student/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WBNG</a> reports that Haley believed Tercero was responsible for slashing all four of her car tires after the two got into an argument the day before during a party at his home.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">Tercero, who had a previous relationship with Anderson, reportedly got upset with her and shouted at her during a confrontation about her on-again, off-again boyfriend.<br />
</span>Tercero attempted to apologize by pouring shots for Anderson and her friends before he became sick after drinking too much.<br />
Anderson helped Tercero to bed and the next morning discovered her tires.</p>
