<p><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Frazee will serve life without parole, reported the </span><a href="https://gazette.com/news/patrick-frazee-trial-jury-begins-deliberations/article_caa6065a-0a1a-11ea-afe1-8368f8e9d1c7.html#nt=instory-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Colorado Springs Gazette</a><span style="color: var(--color-text);">, though formal sentencing has yet to take place. The jury deliberated 3.5 hours, the Gazette reported.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Prosecutors did not give a motive for the slaying during the trial, which took place at the Teller County Courthouse in Cripple Creek, Colo. Berreth, a flight instructor, was last seen shopping with the couple’s daughter.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Frazee had pled not guilty earlier this year to three counts of solicitation to commit murder and two counts of first-degree murder.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Pivotal witness Lee testified earlier this month that she helped him clean up blood at Berreth’s home. She also said she watched Frazee burn a bag she believed contained Berreth’s body.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Lee said that Frazee confessed to killing Berreth with a baseball bat. Lee has pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence.</span><br />

<p><span style="color: var(--color-text);">On Friday the jury heard how Frazee solicited help on multiple occasions to kill Kenney as well as several other witnesses who could testify against him. Inmate Jacob Bentley testified that Frazee asked him multiple times to kill Lee, her relatives, investigator Gregg Slater and others.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Defense lawyers questioned Lee’s credibility and emphasized the lack of a body, motive and weapon.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">“What they did not tell you is that Krystal did not go to police voluntarily,” Frazee’s lawyer Ashley Porter said during opening statements.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">“They had to track her down. &#8230; Before she says anything about this case, she cuts a deal, where she could spend zero days in jail.”<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Prosecutors allege the couple’s 1-year-old daughter was in a nearby room when her mother was brutally killed.</span></p>
