<p class="mol-para-with-font">A man killed his wife and three children over nearly a week, showing up to a Northern California police station with the body of his oldest son in his car, authorities said.<br />
After Shankar Hangud, 53, surrendered to the police with his son&#8217;s body inside his vehicle. Officers then found a further three bodies at Mr Hangud&#8217;s home on Junction Road in Roseville, California. It´s unclear how the victims died.<br />
Placer County officials identified the four as Jyothi Shankar, 46; Varum Shankar, 20; Gauri Hangud, 16; and Nischal Hangud, 13, Sacramento news station <a class="class" href="https://www.kcra.com/article/placer-county-identifies-quadruple-homicide-victims/29993132" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KCRA-TV</a> reported Tuesday.<br />
They have charged Hangud with killing two family members on October 7. Police say the killings happened at the family&#8217;s Roseville apartment in the northeast of Sacramento.<br />

<p class="imageCaption"><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Roseville police say he had driven more than 200 miles from his home with one victim inside his car. &#8211; Investigators previously said Hangud traveled to several places in Northern California before ending up in Mount Shasta.</span></p>

<p>Hangud allegedly confessed to all four murders to Mount Shasta police the next day.<br />
The suspect however as recanted and has pled not guilty, though prosecutors say he confessed without giving a motive.<br />
Tax records show that Hangud faced an IRS tax bill of $178,000, but his only prior interaction with law enforcement was for speeding in 2016.<br />
Hangud was an unemployed data specialist. His LinkedIn profile shows he had worked for several companies in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.</p>
