<p>The mother of two missing children in Idaho, lied to witnesses, telling them her daughter had died more than a year ago, according to police.<br />
Lori Vallow, 46, went on the run with husband Chad Daybell, 51, after authorities learned Lori&#8217;s children Joshua, seven, and Tylee, 17, were missing.<br />
In a press release issued Monday Rexburg police said they have &#8216;information indicating that Lori knows either the location of the children or what has happened to them&#8217;.<br />
They also slammed the mother for her refusal to help with the investigation and confirmed they know the children are not with Lori and Chad.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">Police said Monday: &#8216;Despite having this knowledge, she has refused to work with law enforcement to help us resolve this matter.<br />
</span>&#8216;It is astonishing that rather than work with law enforcement to help us locate her own children, Lori Vallow has chosen instead to leave the state with her new husband.&#8217;<br />

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Authorities are now calling on the children&#8217;s mother Lori Vallow and her new husband Chad Daybell &#8216;to do the right thing&#8217; and &#8216;be honest&#8217;, saying: &#8216;This entire investigation could have been avoided if Lori and Chad had simply been honest with law enforcement.&#8217;<br />
While records show that the pair were married just weeks after Daybell&#8217;s wife died. Chad&#8217;s first wife, Tammy Daybell, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on October 19 in Rexburg.<br />
In the release police also state: &#8216;We are aware that in the weeks after Tammy Daybell&#8217;s death, Lori Daybell and Chad Daybell told witnesses that Lori&#8217;s daughter had died a year before the death of her father, which is untrue,&#8217; police said<br />
&#8216;Around that same time Chad told another witness that Lori had no minor children. We strongly believe that Joshua and Tylee&#8217;s lives are in danger,&#8217; they added.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">The search for the children began in November when police tried to do a welfare check on Joshua, Lori&#8217;s adopted son who has special needs.<br />
</span>Rexburg police say the parents, Chad and Lori, never reported the kids missing, have repeatedly lied about where their children are &#8211; initially saying the boy was in Arizona &#8211; and aren&#8217;t cooperating with the investigation.<br />
The couple had disappeared from their Rexburg home when police returned with additional questions and search warrants. No charges have been filed against Chad or Lori in Idaho or Arizona.</p>

Vallow, 63, from Texas was shot and killed when he turned up to pick up his son for a pre-arranged visit on <span class="mol-style-bold">July 11, </span><br />
Two months later Lori relocated with her children, Joshua and Tylee, to Rexburg, Idaho.<br />
While Joshua&#8217;s grandparents Kay and Larry Woodcock, said they saw the boy via FaceTime in August, Joshua reportedly was last seen at his school in Idaho on September<span class="mol-style-bold"> 23.</span><br />
<span class="mol-style-bold">There was also some a</span>ctivity found on a Venmo account that may belong to Tylee as late as October, 2019.<br />
<span class="mol-style-bold">Still, on October 19</span> Chad Daybell&#8217;s wife, Tammy Daybell, died at their home in Rexburg. Officials rule her death to be of natural causes and she was buried three days later in Springville, Utah. Days later Chad wed Lori Vallow, in l<span class="mol-style-bold">ate October.</span><br />
<span class="mol-style-bold">Uncomfortable about the non-communication, by late November o</span>ut-of-state relatives ask Idaho police to perform a welfare check on Joshua.<br />
Lori and Chad told authorities he was in Arizona with a family friend. Police also learned Lori&#8217;s daughter, Tylee has not been seen since September, either.<br />

Police say it appeared the couple abruptly left the house and city. They said they don&#8217;t believe the couple had the children with them. How the couple left the city is unclear.<br />
Lori, 51, and Chad, 46, got married just days after the October 19 death of Tammy, his first wife and mother of his five children. Her death was originally listed as natural but cops have now exhumed her body for further testing.<br />
An obituary for Tammy, a librarian, who also served as chief financial officer for her husband&#8217;s publishing company, said she &#8216;died peacefully in her sleep&#8217;. She was just 49.<br />
That is not the only mysterious death linked to the couple.<br />
Tylee&#8217;s father, Joseph Ryan, died of a heart attack last year.<br />
Lori&#8217;s estranged husband Charles Vallow was shot dead by her brother, Alex Cox, in July after getting into an argument when he went to pick up Joshua.<br />
And Cox himself died on December 12, the day after Tammy&#8217;s body was dug up.<br />

</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Police said Monday: &#8216;Many people have inquired as to why we have not filed charges yet in this case. Our primary concern at this point is simply locating Joshua and Tylee and charging decisions will be made in due course based upon the evidence available.<br />
</span>&#8216;If we find that harm was done to these children within our jurisdiction, we will prosecute whoever caused that harm.&#8217;<br />
Lori and Chad issued a statement on December 24 through an attorney, saying they love their son and daughter and look forward to addressing &#8216;allegations once they have moved beyond speculation and rumor&#8217;.</p>

He and Lori participated in podcasts for a group called &#8216;Preparing a People,&#8217; which the group said involves &#8216;the second coming of Jesus Christ.&#8217; The group has since removed those podcasts.<br />
Chad was excommunicated from the Mormon church after he declared that he was a prophet.<br />
Lori&#8217;s family claim she joined a cult with Chad&#8217;s cult, a radical offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, around 18 months ago and became obsessed with the end of times.<br />
Family members have expressed suspicion that the children&#8217;s disappearance may be linked to their mother&#8217;s newfound religious beliefs.<br />
Her former mother-in-law, Kay Vallow Woodcock, wrote in a December 20 Facebook post: &#8216;Things started changing over the past 18+ months when Lori began spending all her time with a new religious group, that we refer to as a &#8220;cult&#8221;.&#8217;</p>
