<div>Police in Kentucky have charged a husband with his university professor wife&#8217;s disappearance. Ella Diebolt Jackson, 48, went missing in October. Her husband, Glenn Jackson, 39, was arrested on Friday and charged with murder-domestic violence and tampering with physical evidence.<br />
Although the mother-of-two&#8217;s body was never found, police have searched the home the couple shared and revealed &#8216;a significant amount&#8217; amount of blood was found in the trunk of Glenn Jackson&#8217;s car.<br />
At the time the missing woman&#8217;s husband, Eastern Kentucky University English Professor Glenn D. Jackson, told <a href="https://www.lex18.com/news/covering-kentucky/son-suspicious-of-mothers-disappearance">LEX 18</a> Ella asked him and their young son to leave the house the previous weekend for an extended period of time. He believed she left on her own, Glen told the station.<br />
With premonition Ella Jackson sent a text message <span style="color: var(--color-text);">to her ex-husband, Jason Hans, in which she expressed fears about her safety, indicating that Glen should be investigated if harm befell her.</span></div>

</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">One of those she had reached out to as early as 2015 was her ex-husband, Jason Hans, a professor of family sciences at the University of Kentucky.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">&#8216;After years stuck in a cycle of violence, Ella had recently begun working in earnest with a lawyer on an exit plan,&#8217; he wrote in a lengthy Facebook post on Friday.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Hans revealed that he wanted to provide his ex-wife with financial support in order that she could leave Glenn but she feared that her husband could win custody of their child if they split.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">&#8216;Ella loved her boy more than life itself, so she refused to risk it until a fail-safe exit plan was in place,&#8217; In the </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/jason.hans/posts/10107641834629070">Facebook post</a><span style="color: var(--color-text);"> Hans wrote.</span></p>

<div class="mobile-gallery-icon"><span style="color: var(--color-text);">&#8216;The messages and rushed phone calls were all too regular in recent years: &#8216;I need your help,&#8217; &#8216;I am very scared,&#8217; &#8216;I am scared to the point of not being ok to get out of the bedroom to get a cup of milk or change my tampon,&#8217; &#8216;I am being awakened at almost 3 in the morning and dragged through the house,&#8217; &#8216;It is getting seriously scary and I am very worried about my child and myself,&#8217; Hans claimed Jackson would say to him.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">&#8216;Even as the emotional scars of our respective and all-too-recent histories continued to haunt us, Ella and I quickly developed a deep appreciation and love for one another,&#8217; Hans wrote. &#8216;Although neither of us necessarily needed to be rescued, it&#8217;s difficult to characterize our experience together as anything less than a mutual rescue.&#8217;<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Hans also explained how the two remained friends despite divorcing ten years ago, and “remained among one another’s most cherished people in life, even as we also moved along with our independent lives.”<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">The same sentiments were shared by Ella Jackson adult son, Phillip Hans, who </span><a href="https://www.lex18.com/news/covering-kentucky/son-suspicious-of-mothers-disappearance" target="_self" rel="Follow noopener noreferrer">told WLEX last fall</a><span style="color: var(--color-text);"> his mother talked to him or texted him every day.</span></div>

<p>The day before she disappeared Ella texted Phillip while she was walking one of her dogs at nearby Million Park. That&#8217;s the last time Phillip Hans said he had any communication with his mother. Typically, her longest trips from home were to the grocery, he said.<br />
&#8220;Everything of hers is at the house, she wouldn&#8217;t leave her kid behind, her car is there, her phone is there,&#8221; he said. &#8220;All her stuff is there.&#8221;<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">On Friday Jason Hans</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);"> obtained guardianship of </span> Ella and Glenn Jackson’s 6-year-old son.</p>
