An Illinois man who once wrote ‘I want to kill my parents’ on a bathroom mirror has reportedly admitted to killing his mother and father after initially staging a burglary at his house in an attempt to deceive investigators.
Jose Ramirez, 21, was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of his parents, Bradley University English professor Susan Brill De Ramirez and Antonio Ramirez Barron.

Authorities say Ramirez confessed to throwing his parents’ bodies off a bridge after killing them at their home in Princeville early Friday morning of Friday, Oct. 26.
Another man, Matthew J. Roberts, 20, has also been arrested.
Ramirez, 21, has been charged with obstruction of justice and concealment of a homicidal death, according to The Peoria Journal Star.
Sheriff Brian Asbell confirmed later Monday that Jose Ramirez made a confession and allegedly admitted to killing his parents in the early morning hours. The confession, Asbell said, was corroborated by evidence found at the scene.
Police have not released a motive and it is not clear how the pair died.
However, police sources are said to be gathering evidence that he had a long-standing ‘hatred’ towards his mother and father.
Susan Brill De Ramirez was an English professor at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
Her husband, Antonio Ramirez Barren, was a technology support specialist in the university’s IT department. They were both 63 years old.
The arrests were announced by Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell.
