<p data-page="1" data-item-type="depthscroll" data-item-id="depth_scroll_top" data-item-number="top">A cruel Long Island mom and her boyfriend, charged with abandoning her 6-year-old daughter at a busy Queens intersection, callously tossed a bag of the girl’s belongings out the window before driving off, prosecutors said Wednesday.</p>

<p>Before leaving, the boyfriend called the child’s father, telling him to come find her because she was “crying like a little b&#8212;-,” according to a shocking criminal complaint.<br />
Patrice Chambers, 29, and her 28-year-old boyfriend Mark Pamphile are accused of forcing little Emma out of the mom’s white Nissan Altima at 140th Ave. and Springfield Blvd. in Laurelton about 11:30 a.m. Monday.<br />
The incident was captured by surveillance cameras. Chambers who was driving, was seen throwing her child’s belongings, stuffed in a white garbage bag and black reusable sack, out her driver’s side window before driving away.</p>

<p>Surveillance video recovered by NYPD shows little Emma “running in the street&#8230; attempting to pick up the items in the street,” heartbreaking court papers reveal.<br />
Before driving off Pamphile called Emma’s father, Kermit Watson, and left an &#8216;unthinkable voicemail,&#8217; prosecutors charge.<br />
“You better come get your daughter,” Pamphile said, according to court papers. “Your daughter is in the street not sleeping nowhere.&#8221;</p>

<p>“She is crying like a little b&#8212;-,” he added. A crying child could be heard in the background on the voicemail, prosecutors said.<br />
When they were later arrested by cops, a defiant Pamphile washed his hands of the child, authorities charge.<br />
“This kid is her kid,&#8221; he told cops, according to court papers.<br />
“This kid is not my kid, not my problem, not my responsibility.”<br />
Emma was scooped up by good Samaritan Mishka Peart, who saw the child wearing a surgical mask and wandering aimlessly near the intersection with her belongings in tow.<br />
“They drove off and left me,&#8221; Emma said when Peart asked the child where her parents were.<br />
“How does this happen?&#8221; Peart wondered on Tuesday.<br />
“How is it that this woman has a daughter and leaves her like this?”<br />
Peart drove the child to nearby Montbellier Park, where she found a pair of school safety agents and told them what happened.<br />
The safety agents summoned officers from the 105th Precinct, sparking the investigation.<br />
Police located and arrested Chambers and her boyfriend at their Central Islip, Long Island residence a few hours later.<br />
They are charged with child abandonment, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.<br />
When questioned, Chambers said that she tried to drop Emma off at her father’s home but Kermit Watson had turned her away.<br />
Watson however, refuted the claims and provided evidence from a doorbell video to prove Chambers and Pamphile never stopped by.</p>

<p>Interviewed by police at his apartment, near the intersection where Emma was abandoned, Emma’s 52-year-old dad, Kermit Watson exclaimed, “Are you crazy?”<br />
“That never happened.” Watson said to detectives, refuting the allegations leveled by by Chambers, that she had shown up with Emma earlier in the morning and he had turned them away.<br />
In fact, he said, Pamphile sent a text saying he and Chambers were coming by with Emma, but no one ever showed up. Doorbell video from his landlord backed up his account.</p>

<p>Watson told investigators he’d barely seen Emma since he and Chambers broke up when the child was two. Recently however, Chambers called asking him to take Emma in because Suffolk County child welfare authorities were “harassing her”.<br />
Watson said he jumped at the chance to have Emma live with him, even though Chambers refused his request to have his name listed on their daughter&#8217;s birth certificate.</p>

<p>Mark Pamphile he said, had taken control of his ex-girfriend&#8217;s life, fathering a child with her and looking to distance her from Emma and an older daughter, 11, who now lives with her own dad.</p>

<p>“He doesn’t want nobody around,&#8221; Watson said of Pamphile. “She doesn’t have a say.”<br />
In Pamphile&#8217;s police interview he had sought to distance himself from the issues in his household.<br />
In his statement read in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday he claims: &#8220;These kids are a problem to me. This kid is her kid &#8230; This kid is not my kid, not my problem, not my responsibility.”<br />
Watson he’s barely seen Emma since he and Chambers broke up about four years ago.<br />
It was only after detectives showed Chambers surveillance video from the intersection, that she admitted to abandoning her child because she “was frustrated,&#8221; prosecutors said.</p>

<p>Emma was handed over to child welfare services in Suffolk County and will be placed with a relative, officials said. A Queens Criminal Court judge ordered the couple released without bail after they were arraigned late Tuesday.<br />
Mishka Peart who rescued the child was especially hurt and puzzled by the incident because, she said, “I’m struggling to have a kid.&#8221; She said she and her husband have been trying for two years.<br />
“I am just so confused as to how people can just leave their children on the street with garbage bags,&#8221; Peart said on video she recorded while Emma was in the back seat of her car.<br />
She also said that she feels lucky that she changed up her daily exercise routine on Monday in a way that led her to find Emma in the busy intersection.<br />
&#8220;I am mindblown. I am like in total shock,” she said. “It’s like God sent me.”<br />
