<p>A hostage situation ended in ‘multiple fatalities’ in Oregon on Monday afternoon.<br>An 11-year-old boy, a 24-year-old woman and a 34-year-old male, suspected to be the gunman, died after officers opened fire during the hostage standoff in broad daylight at the east Salem home. <br>A Marion County Sheriff&#8217;s Office deputy has also placed on leave after firing a &#8220;yet to be determined number of rounds,&#8221; Oregon State Police officials said. Authorities have not yet said whether the deputy shot any of those who died.<br>Sheriff&#8217;s Office deputies responded to a &#8220;possible hostage situation&#8221; at about 12:30 p.m. at a house in the 200 block of Juneva Place SE Salem, officials said.</p>

<p>On arrival at the home the Sheriff&#8217;s Office negotiators called the alleged hostage taker, Jose Jesus Lopez-Tinoco, in an attempt to resolve the situation peacefully, police reported.<br>After gunshots were heard inside the home, deputies executed &#8220;forced entry&#8221; to try to rescue any victims, according to Oregon State Police. <br>A deputy entered the house and fired an as-of-yet undetermined number of rounds, according to police reports.<br>The alleged hostage taker, Lopez-Tinoco, 34, of Woodburn, was found dead inside of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.<br>Diari Bustos-Bustos, 24, and an 11-year-old boy, whose name officials have not released, were both found dead in the house from gunshot wounds.<br>A third adult in the home, Laura Rocio-Bustos, 43, was found alive with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. <br>A 13-year-old boy was found uninjured.<br>Officials said Deputy Ricky Kittelson has been placed on administrative leave, which is often standard procedure whenever a law-enforcement officer fires a weapon. </p>

<p>Officials have not said whether Kittleson was the deputy who fired the rounds, or how many deputies were in the house at the time of the incident.
