bringing significant snowfall to the Sierra&period;<br>Sheriff&&num;8217&semi;s spokesperson Sarah Roberts on Friday that the Larsens&&num;8217&semi; bodies had been on the shoulder of the road for less than 24 hours before they were discovered&period; <br>Investigators previously said the couple had been murdered in a &&num;8216&semi;specific and targeted&&num;8217&semi; said her son left Redding in June to drive to Carson City&comma; Nevada&comma; but never made it there and has not been seen or heard from in six months&period;  <br>The distraught mother said she hired a private investigator who identified William Larsen and another man as the people her son was supposed to meet in Carson City to complete the marijuana deal&period;<br>The Mono County Sheriff&&num;8217&semi;s Office spokeswoman said authorities are &&num;8216&semi;pretty positive&&num;8217&semi; the Larsens had been executed at the spot where they were found&period; <br>The Cal Trans employee who made the grisly discovery contacted the authorities and the highway was immediately closed to traffic&period;  <br>Responding immediately assessed the deaths were likely homicides&comma; the Mono County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;It can be confirmed that neither are local to Mono County or surrounding areas&period; The crime appears to be specific and targeted&comma;
