<p>A convicted felon nicknamed &#8216;Psycho&#8217; was apprehended in New Mexico on Thursday in connection to three sets of skeletal remains that were found in a tiny rural hamlet in Colorado&#8217;s San Luis Valley. <br>According to a statement from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, [CBI], Adre Jordan Baroz was arrested at a motel in Gallup, New Mexico, at 3pm. Thursday.<br>Despite the earlier police bulletin that warned the public that the fugitive, a convicted felon, was armed and dangerous, Baroz, 26, was taken into custody without incident by officers from the Alamosa Police Department with assistance from members of the Colorado Springs Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.</p>

<p>The suspect was then booked into the McKinley County Detention Center pending his extradition to Colorado, where he is facing charges of first-degree homicide, first-degree assault and second-degree kidnapping. ; ;<br>Searches conducted on November 10 and November 13 uncovered the skeletal remains of the people on two properties near Las Sauces, a tiny community about 20 miles from the small city of Alamosa, said Conejos County Sheriff Garth Crowther. ; ;</p>

<p>None of the remains have been identified; police say do not yet know if they are male or female. ;The CBI has said they do not believe the case is connected to missing Colorado mom Suzanne Morphew, who disappeared in May. ;<br>Authorities have not revealed how Baroz, who is commonly known as &#8216;Psycho&#8217; in the area, may be connected to the discovery of the remains. <br>Authorities from at least four sheriff&#8217;s offices, police departments in Colorado&#8217;s San Luis Valley agricultural region and state investigators have formed a task force to investigate the case.<br>&#8216;The San Luis valley is very small. It´s a tight-knit community,&#8217; Anderson. &#8216;Most of us have grown up here. We´re just trying to keep the community safe right now.&#8217;</p>

<p>It was not known if any of the remains are linked to any missing persons cases in the region, which borders New Mexico, said George Dingfelder, the police chief of the small community of Monte Vista. ;<br>Dingfelder said: &#8216;Just because human remains were found, we are not associating them with the missing persons cases at this time, and for anybody to do so would be irresponsible and complete speculation.&#8217;<br>He said authorities got a search warrant for a property near Las Sauces, found human remains there and then found more on a nearby property.<br>Identification of the remains could take weeks, if not months, and it isn&#8217;t known whether the remains are male, female, what age they may be or how long they were at the properties, Dingfelder said.<br>Authorities are still searching the second property &#8216;to ensure all remains and all evidence is found,&#8217; said Conejos County Sheriff Garth Crowder.</p>

<p>Baroz is from the tiny town of Sanford, near Las Sauces, Anderson said. ;<br>He has a vast criminal history in Colorado that includes convictions for assault on a peace officer, attempted escape and theft, according to state court records. ;<br>Baroz also has four open criminal cases against him that include several drug charges, possession of a weapon by a felon and assault. ;<br>One of the assault convictions in his record stems from an incident in which Baroz was said to have drugged and raped a woman after a New Year&#8217;s Eve celebration in 2019. ; <br>Baroz was charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor related to sexual assault and drugging a victim on New Year’s Day 2019, according to court records. ;</p>

<p>The victim spoke to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://kdvr.com/news/local/woman-says-she-was-drugged-sexually-assaulted-by-homicide-suspect-psycho/">Fox 31</a> on condition of anonymity, accusing Baroz of injecting her with methamphetamine and sexually assaulting her. <br>The woman said after the rape, Baroz threatened to kill her if she told anyone about what happened. <br>&#8216;Even today I still have horrible anxiety,&#8217; the woman said. &#8216;I don’t know, ever since he threatened to come after me and stuff, I was always watching my back, I was nervous at work, I had to have escorts and everything.&#8217;</p>
