<p>The body of a 28-year-old woman was found by officers in the trunk of a man&#8217;s car following a police chase. The 28-year-old&#8217;s remains were discovered Saturday after the pursuit when troopers searched the car belonging to the dead woman&#8217;s acquaintance after he was caught speeding.<br>Troopers spotted a white Honda, belonging to Victor Campbell Jr., 35, from Fresno speeding in downtown Beaumont, Texas at around 7.45am on Saturday. <br>After being pulled over, the driver took off again and a brief police pursuit took place before Campbell crashed near a church resale parking lot, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://abc13.com/womans-body-found-in-trunk-following-police-chase-car-beaumont-during-dps-lt-chuck-havard/8333038/">abc13</a> reports.<br>The troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety then discovered the lifeless body of Briana Teirra Johnson in the trunk while searching the car.</p>

<p><br>Surveillance footage from near Briana&#8217;s home in Maggie Street, Sunnyside, Houston, captured Campbell putting her body into the trunk of his car at around 4.55am. <br>Sources told abc13 that the 35-year-old man, who has been charged with family violence before, had occasionally stayed at her home but said they were unsure what their relationship was. <br>A week before her death, Briana posted on Facebook about a date night with Campbell. <br>Following the crash, Campbell was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries before being taken to Jefferson County jail. </p>

<p>He faces charges for felony evading arrest, driving while intoxicated, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, with the potential for more charges. <br>The cause of Briana&#8217;s death is not yet known and an autopsy has been ordered. <br>Make-up loving Briana, a Texas Southern University graduate, has been described by her friends as funny and happy. Cierra Kenner said: &#8216;She always kept me laughing.&#8217;<br>Her family have set up a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-lay-briana-to-rest">GoFundMe page</a> to raise funds for Briana&#8217;s funeral. </p>
