<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Harvard University Tuesday cut ties with a New York Republican congresswoman over her comments supporting President Trump’s unfounded claims of massive fraud that robbed of victory in the 2020 presidential elections.<br>The Ivy League school removed U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik from a senior advisory committee at Harvard’s school of government after she refused to voluntarily resign, Douglas Elmendorf, dean of the Kennedy School, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.hks.harvard.edu/more/about/leadership-administration/deans-office/deans-remarks/elise-stefanik-and-institute" target="_blank">said in a statement</a>.<br>“Elise has made public assertions about voter fraud in November’s presidential election that have no basis in evidence, and she has made public statements about court actions related to the election that are incorrect,” Elmendorf said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Hundreds of students and alumni called for her removal from the committee.<br>Stefanik represents New York’s 21st Congressional District, which stretches from Saratoga Springs north to Canada and west to Watertown, taking in nearly all of the Adirondacks park. She was 147 Republicans who opposed certifying the presidential election results last week.<br>Responding to the university’s move, Stefanik said Tuesday that said it’s a “rite of passage and badge of honor” to be boycotted, adding in a tweet that Harvard was “bowing to the woke Far-Left.”<br>“The decision by Harvard’s administration to cower and cave to the woke Left will continue to erode diversity of thought, public discourse, and ultimately the student experience,” she said in the statement.</p>
