documents alleged&period; <br>Koets&&num;8217&semi; attorney David Kallman described the situation as a &&num;8216&semi;very unique and tragic&&num;8217&semi; case&comma; noting in court Monday that his client will have to live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life&period;<br>A pediatrician familiar with the family and Timothy&&num;8217&semi;s relative both described the Koets couple as loving parents who took care of their severely disabled son&period;<br>Joel Koets&comma; mainly because Samuel &&num;8216&semi;was unattended and had escaped from the residence&period;&&num;8217&semi;<br>Timothy Koets told the court he and the family learned to manage Samuel&&num;8217&semi;s autism as best as they could and mentioned that he had used the word &&num;8216&semi;freak&&num;8217&semi; to describe his son in a text conversation with his daughter&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;The words that I used were not good&comma;&&num;8217&semi; he said Monday&period;&nbsp&semi;<br>&&num;8216&semi;It was a way of blowing off steam and I&&num;8217&semi;m not excusing myself for that&comma;
