<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Colorado man has been charged with murder after he allegedly dumped two suitcases with his victim&#8217;s remains in it but forgot to remove the baggage claim sticker that had his name printed on it. ;<br>Benjamin Satterthwaite, 28, is charged with killing and dismembering 33-year-old ;Joshua Lockard&#8217;s body in Denver last month. ;<br>Police say ;Satterthwaite put Lockard&#8217;s remains in two different suitcases before dumping on a sidewalk near a creek. ;<br>The suitcases were discovered on December 29 by ;city employees who were plowing snow from the sidewalk.<br>Opening one of the suitcases, they discovered a human foot. ; ;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Detectives who responded to the scene found that one of the suitcases contained a baggage sticker from a recent United Airlines flight.<br>They say it had the name Satterthwait, Den printed on it.<br>In that suitcase, detectives found the victim&#8217;s right leg and left upper thigh.<br>The other suitcase contained his torso, which had been wrapped in a trash bag and secured with duct tape.<br>Authorities say the rest of the victim&#8217;s remains have not yet been found. ;<br>Investigators subsequently contacted a detective at Denver International Airport to investigate the baggage claim sticker.<br>They found it belonged to Satterthwaite and that he had flown into Denver on December 21.There were no reports of Satterthwaite reporting that his luggage had been stolen, detectives said.<br>As authorities were investigating the murder, police responded to reports of a possible overdose at ;Satterthwaite&#8217;s apartment on New Year&#8217;s Day. ;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">They found ;Satterthwaite unconscious and potentially in the middle of an overdose episode with another individual lying dead beside him, who authorities believe died of an overdose. ;<br>Satterthwaite was taken to hospital where authorities obtained his fingerprints and a search warrant for his home. ;<br>Conducting a search of the apartment, investigators uncovered a suitcase that matched one found at the scene. Luminol also found that the couch, bathroom and bathtub were covered in blood. ;<br>Detectives also found a bloody saw in the apartment, which they later determined he had purchased at a Walmart on December 27. ;<br>Police have since discovered that ;Lockard was last seen alive on December 26. ;Friends told authorities that he struggled with a meth addiction. ;<br>Police believe Lockard and ;Satterthwaite knew each other. ; ;<br>While the Medical Examiner says ;Lockard&#8217;s cause of death is still under investigation, Satterthwaite has been charged ;one count of murder in the first degree and one count of tampering with a deceased human body. ; ; ; ;</p>
