<p>Surveillance footage shows the shocking moment when a woman stalked her ex-girlfriend and shot her in the back of the head in broad daylight in Brooklyn Wednesday. According to witnesses the victim never saw killer who ran up from behind and shot at close range.<br>Footage shows the moment when Latisha Bell, 38, sprinted up behind Nichelle Thomas, 52, and shot her as she headed into a bodega store on the corner of St. Marks place in Park Slope at 1pm.</p>

<p>The two women had previously been in a relationship years back, but it was not immediately clear why the two broke up, police sources revealed. <br>However, Thomas was killed in a point-blank shooting Tuesday, outside a Brooklyn deli that law enforcement sources said was carried out by her ex-girlfriend.<br>The execution-style killing took place on a sidewalk at the corner of St. Marks Place and 4th Avenue in Park Slope after 1 p.m. According to the police report, a 52-year-old woman, later identified as Nichelle Thomas, was about to enter a local bodega when another woman could be seen on surveillance video walking up behind her, pulling out a gun and shooting her in the back of the head.<br>Thomas slumped in a heap to the ground. The shooter, dressed in all black, fled the scene. </p>

<p>It is not immediately known what the motive is for the shooting but investigators do believe that there was a lover&#8217;s quarrel between the two, sources added. ; <br>The footage shows that the alleged shooter, Latisha Bell had been stalking Thomas before the brazen daylight shooting in Brooklyn.</p>

<p>Thomas was rushed to the New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, but she died from her injuries, police shared. She is survived by two adut children.<br>Thomas was unsuspecting as Bell stalked up behind her and shot her in the back of the head, according to the footage.<br>Police have recovered the firearm used in the shooting. <br>The victim&#8217;s adult daughter said that she was still processing the tragic shooting. <br>&#8216;I&#8217;m confused,&#8217; the daughter said. &#8216;I don&#8217;t know what happened. I can&#8217;t talk right now.&#8217; <br>The former couple had lived together for 20 years in an apartment near the deli outside which Thomas was shot. <br>Thomas still lived there but Bell moved to the Bronx three years ago. <br>During their relationship, police were called to the Brooklyn apartment 13 times for domestic disputes. <br>Bell also has three prior misdemeanors, but it&#8217;s unclear what those are. <br> Another neighbor said the victim and her ex-girlfriend had a toxic relationship.<br>&#8216;They lived together for years,&#8217; they said. &#8216;But they were always fighting. They had a big falling out about three years ago and she left.&#8217; </p>

<p>Just hours after the murder, Bell turned herself in to police at the 78th Precinct with her lawyer present. <br>She reportedly, walked into a police station and told the cop on duty: &#8216;I am turning myself in for the homicide. The gun is inside the bag. I need to talk to the homicide detective. I did the shooting.&#8217; <br>She has been charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.<br>On Thursday, Bell&#8217;s sister in an interview Thursday is blaming the victim for the tragedy, claiming she wouldn&#8217;t leave her sibling alone. The woman who wishes to remain unnamed, said her sister had been suffering mental health problems for years. &#8216;My sister&#8217;s been dealing with mental issues for a very long time,&#8217; she said. <br>The other party was aware, she said, &#8216;I&#8217;m so sorry she had to go through this. I&#8217;m sorry both of them had to go through this.<br>&#8216;My sister doesn&#8217;t deserve this. She tried to leave her alone but the woman kept coming back to her. <br>&#8216;Every time she saw my sister doing well she kept going back to her, knowing that she&#8217;s mentally disabled. <br>&#8216;They had a long going domestic violence issue &#8211; when my sister left she should have just kept on going.<br>&#8216;You don&#8217;t play with the mentally ill,&#8217; she said. <br>She claimed Nichelle caused her sister to lose custody of her son several years ago and that is what caused them to break up. Nicholas herself has a son and a daughter, both adults.</p>

<p>The shooter&#8217;s sister claims that a more recent incident which drove her sister to kill her, but she would not reveal what that incident was. &#8216;Something happened that I don&#8217;t want to discuss &#8211; something really did happen that was traumatizing to my sister &#8211; she just couldn&#8217;t deal with it anymore.<br>&#8216;She realized that she was using her for her own good. She felt she couldn&#8217;t take it. <br>&#8216;Enough is enough,&#8217; she said. <br>It&#8217;s also unclear how Latisha was able to get her hands on a gun, or if her mental health problems are documented. <br>New York is a red flag law state which means anyone with a history of mental illness cannot legally buy a firearm. <br>Bell was remanded in custody on Thursday and her attorney has requested for a psychiatric evaluation and medical attention. <br>She will return to court on April 27. </p>
