<p>Authorities in Harris County Texas, Tuesday arrested a 42-year-old man accused of cutting the power to his ex-wife&#8217;s Houston home before breaking in and shooting her four times while their four children slept nearby &#8211; just hours before the pair was scheduled to appear for a custody hearing. <br>Surveillance video from around the time of the incident on Monday shows Aaron Wright and one accomplice, walking up to the house at 3.08am before running away a few minutes later. <br>The second person in the video is believed to be his girlfriend. She hasn&#8217;t been named. <br>Wright accompanied by his girlfriend police said, approached his ex-wife Andrea Walker&#8217;s home before he used a power box on the side of the house to shut off the electricity &#8211; disabling its alarm before breaking in through a rear window.<br>The pair then ran away, but Wright was arrested at work a few hours later.</p>

<p>Surveillance video shows Wright and a person authorities believe to be his girlfriend heading toward the home early Monday. Wright allegedly broke in through a back window and shot his ex-wife, Andrea Walker, four times while their four children, ages 7, 9, 11 and 13, were inside. <br>The footage shows Wright and his girlfriend head away from the home minutes later. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in an update at 10:30 a.m. Monday that Wright had been located, arrested and booked into Harris County Jail on the aggravated assault charge. </p>

<p>After the shooting, two of the children ran to a neighbor&#8217;s house to report what had happened. <br>&#8216;They came over and saw us out here, a daughter and a son, and we took them in the house to protect them from what’s going on,&#8217; a neighbor, Richard Carlson, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/texas-houston-man-shoots-ex-wife-child-custody-hearing-four-times">said</a>.<br>Aaron Wright and Andrea Walker had been scheduled to appear at a custody hearing Monday for their children and investigators said the father may have feared losing custody over the kids. <br>Andrea Walker survived, and the Harris County Sheriff&#8217;s Office reported on Monday that she was in stable condition. The children were unharmed.<br>A <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/tsnrsz-help-andrea-rebuild?member=12135591&;sharetype=teams&;utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&;utm_medium=social&;utm_source=facebook">Gofundme</a> was set up to help pay for her medical expenses, and her boyfriend, Jimmy Bolton said that she will need multiple surgeries, KTRK reported.<br>&#8216;She is going to have a long road to recovery,&#8217; he posted on Facebook, along with photos of Aaron Wright appearing to show up at the house. </p>

<p>Wright, meanwhile, is charged with aggravated assault and burglary with intent to commit another felony. <br>Police said they found and arrested him at 10.30am, but did not specify where. <br>The girlfriend has not been named or charged in the case, although authorities said they are investigating.</p>

<p>After he was released on bond Tuesday, he said, &#8216;I would never do anything like that.&#8217; <br>In court Tuesday, defense had asked for the bond amount to be lowered because Aaron was paying child support for his four children. The judge denied their request. She also set strict bond conditions.<br>Because Wright appeared to use &#8216;planning&#8217; and &#8216;technique&#8217; when he broke into the home the judge said she set bail was set at $175,000. $100,000 bail for burglary and another $75,000 for aggravated assault.<br>He cannot own a firearm, and he was ordered to wear a GPS tracker and stay 200 feet away from his ex-wife&#8217;s home.<br>The judge also warned Wright that even if he can pay to get out of jail, he can&#8217;t go within 200 feet of Andrea&#8217;s house, even if the children are there.</p>

<p>Wright was an abusive husband Walker&#8217;s boyfriend, Jimmy Bolton, said. That abuse continued with stalking and threats after the couple no longer was married, he continued.<br>Walker’s neighbors confirmed there had been trouble between the pair at Walker’s home. Neighbors said Walker feared for her life.<br>“Actually we talked about that before,” Carlson said.<br>Tiffany Beall, another neighbor, said Walker once asked her if she had seen Wright’s truck on the street.<br>“She walked over and she’s like hey did you see a truck go by and did you see anyone get out of it,” Beall said.<br>Records show that Harris County Sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple 911 calls since March, including complaints of terroristic threats as well as a suspicious vehicle on the street.<br>Bolton said Walker had tried to get a protective order against her ex-husband extended, but that request was denied.</p>

<p>After he was released on Tuesday, Aaron Wright denied the shooting, telling KTRK reporter Shelley Childers: &#8216;I didn&#8217;t open fire. I would never do anything around my kids, and I would never do anything like that, ever.&#8217;<br>The couple, who filed for divorce two years ago, reportedly had a tumultuous relationship, with Andrea Wright getting a temporary protective order against him in March, 2020, according to records. <br>She tried getting it extended in November, 2020 but it was denied. <br>The former married couple went through a contentious divorce.<br>Carlson alleges Aaron Wright had previously broken into his ex-wife&#8217;s home shortly after she moved in. <br>Deputies had responded to several 911 calls at the home since March.
