<p>An elementary school vice principal wept Friday as she appeared in court charged with raping a girl aged under 13.<br>Julie Morris is accused of 18 child sex offences that are &#8220;unrelated&#8221; to her job at St George’s Central Church of England Primary School near Wigan, in the UK.<br>Morris, 44, cried as she appeared from custody via videolink at Liverpool Crown Court today. <br>She is charged with nine counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of rape and three counts of indecent photo of a child. <br>Morris is also accused of one count of possessing indecent photos of a child, one count of engaging in sexual communication with a child and two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. <br>She entered no pleas and was remanded in custody until December 22. <br>Morris appeared alongside another teacher similarly facing charges related to child sex crimes. The co-accused David Morris, 52, is no relation. <br>David Morris pled guilty to seven counts of rape, 13 counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. <br>David Morris also admitted taking indecent images under the category A &#8211; the most serious levels &#8211; and B and C. </p>

<p>He further pleaded guilty to distributing indecent images, two counts of engaging in sexual communications with a child, three counts of voyeurism, possession of an extreme pornographic image and possession of a prohibited image of a child.<br>He will be sentenced on December 22.<br>Mathematics and Religious Education teacher Julie Morris, has worked at St George’s Central Church of England Primary School for 10 years. <br>Parents were told of the alleged offences last month in a letter from the school principal Mark Grogan. <br>He said: &#8220;It is important to emphasize that the charges in relation to the alleged offences are not connected with our school.” <br>The head added that he realizes that it “will come as a shock for everyone within the school community”.</p>

<p>Merseyside Police said: &#8220;We can confirm that two people have been charged with child sex offences which are alleged to have taken place in Eccleston. <br>“David Morris has been charged with three counts of rape of a girl under 13 and causing and inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity. <br>“Julie Morris has been charged with aiding and abetting the rape of a girl under 13 and inciting sexual activity with a child under 13. Julie Morris is employed in the education sector in Wigan. <br>“We are working closely with Greater Manchester Police and Wigan Council to ensure that adequate safeguarding measures are in place. <br>“The offences for which she has been charged are not related to her employment in Wigan.”</p>
