A Texas woman who orchestrated her husband’s murder to collect a life insurance payout has been sentenced to life in prison.
Jennifer Faith, 48, admitted to arranging the plot in February after authorities found she had texted her high school sweetheart, Darrin Ruben Lopez, over 14,000 times to convince him to kill her husband, Jamie Faith.
Lopez was arrested on January 11, 2021 and is still awaiting trial on both state and federal charges in connection to the murder. He pled not guilty to those charges.Â
On October 9, 2020, Lopez allegedly drove from his home in Tennessee to Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas where the couple lived.
Lopez police said, shot Jamie Faith seven times from behind as the couple walked their dog at 7.30 am.

Jenny was walking with her husband was unharmed. Later in her statement to responding officers she said, “A neighbor said they saw him attempt to shoot me and the gun was empty. I was running up this driveway and he tackled me, started beating on me, and taped my hands together.”
The couple had been married for 15 years.
After the killing, Jenny Faith continuously denied her involvement and even went on television to say she hoped the killer would come forward.Â
‘I’m not supposed to be widowed at 48, you know?’ she told WFAA in December. Â
‘It’s been horrible, devastating. I teeter between being heartbroken and completely devastated. Every day has been awful,’ she said at the time, before Lopez’s arrest.Â
However, nearly five months after the death of her husband Jennifer Faith was charged with obstruction of justice. Lopez had been booked for Murder.

Jennifer Faith sent over 14,000 texts to her ex-lover Lopez before admitting to investigators that she orchestrated her husband’s murder.
The black widow is alleged to have told police that she was unable to identify the shooter because he was wearing a face mask and approached from behind. She concocted a version of events that she assumed would relieve her of any potential accusations
‘We walked out the door and we made it to the house right behind you and I heard running behind me and I turned around and shooting just started,’ Faith said.
‘The guy kept shooting and shooting. A neighbor said they saw him attempt to shoot me and the gun was empty. I was running up this driveway and he tackled me, started beating on me, and taped my hands together.’

In her initial police interview Jenny Faith is alleged to have told police that she was unable to identify the shooter because he was wearing a face mask and approached from behind. She concocted a version of events that she assumed would relieve her of any potential accusations
‘We walked out the door and we made it to the house right behind you and I heard running behind me and I turned around and shooting just started,’ Jenny said, embellishing, that a neighbor saw the gunman attempt to shoot her, fortunately the gun was empty. He persisted in chasing her up to her driveway, tackled and started beating her up.
Jennifer Faith eulogizes her husband, American Airlines IT director Jamie Faith after he was killed by an unknown gunman a few feet from their home in North Oak Cliff, Texas on October 9, 2020

In February Jennifer Faith was arrested and booked into a Dallas jail after a warrant found she was having an affair with the alleged killer, Darrin Lopez.
It turned out the pair had dated while in high school and she recently reached out to him, prior to the murder.
This new finding totally contradicted her initial statement to police that she neither knew the killer nor would she recognize the shooter because the person was masked and came from behind.

Furthermore Jennifer Faith created a fundraiser on GoFundMe called ‘Support for Jennifer Faith.’
The fundraiser raised over $60,000, but Faith used the proceeds to pay off credit cards debts accumulated by Lopez and bought gifts for his family.
Faith reconnected with Lopez in March 2020, and began texting him intimately and calling him her ‘soulmate.’ Lopez had told Faith that he suffered a severe brain injury while serving in Iraq, leaving him disabled.
Faith lied to Lopez about her husband, an IT director at American Airlines, being sexually and physically abusive. Lopez responded with sympathy and offered to ‘put a bullet in his head,’ according to court documents
The two continued to text each other hundreds of times a day, before abruptly stopping on the day of her husband’s death, before resuming a day later.
Along with her life sentence, she was ordered to pay a $250,000 fine and $6,500 to the family of her deceased husband.Â
