<p>A kindergarten teacher in Sacramento, California has been charged with hiding a teenage boy whose family spent two years looking for him after reporting him missing.<br>Michael Ramirez, 15, ran away from his family home in San Cordova, on May 18, 2020 after an argument with his aunt and uncle about their strict rules. <br>However, the family did not reported him missing until June 9, 2020. Authorities launched an effort to find him, issuing these missing persons posters. <br>While the search for the teen proved unsuccessful, the grief stricken family have just discovered that he ran to the home of Holga Castillo Olivares, a 61-year-old teacher who was also the mother of Michael&#8217;s teenage girlfriend, the entire time the search was on.</p>

<p>For two years, Ramirez lived with Olivares and her family at their home, just 20 miles away from his own. <br>His aunt claims that Olivares lied to cops when she was questioned over the boy&#8217;s whereabouts. <br>Suddenly in May this year, Michael returned home to his aunt and uncle, asking to move back in. <br>They were stunned but relieved to welcome him home, but became irate once he told them where he&#8217;d been living. <br>After Ramirez “inexplicably returned” home, the Sacramento police investigations in the ensuing months, Olivares was finally charged with “Detention of a Minor with the Intent to Conceal from a Parent(s) and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.”<br>She made her first court appearance in Sacramento on Monday afternoon, charged with a felony and a misdemeanor. </p>

<p>Ramirez was living with his aunt and uncle and their five other kids at their home in 15-year-old Rancho Cordova before he ran away after an argument over their strict rules.<br>After turning 17, Ramirez returned home March 11, 2022, two years later. <br>Michael&#8217;s aunt and legal guardian Katte Smith said the family &#8216;thought the worst&#8217; after he ran away. Now, they want the teacher to be held accountable.. Olivares has been charged with concealing a minor. </p>

<p>Olivares who works at at Alice Birney Waldorf-Inspired K-8 School, remains employed by the Sacramento City Unified School District district despite the charges. <br>Reacting toe inquiries, the School District said: &#8220;the charges filed are for acts unrelated to the employee&#8217;s assigned duties.&#8221; However, Olivares is on administrative leave while the school district investigates.<br> &#8216;There are no words that can really explain how you feel when you have a missing child&#8217; his aunt, Katte Smith, told local outlet <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.kcra.com/article/scusd-teacher-arrested-teen-2020-disappearance/41741014" target="_blank">KCRA</a>. <br>&#8216;You think the worst. You think the absolute worst.<br>&#8216;We felt so robbed of all this time with him. <br>&#8216;You can&#8217;t just hide someone&#8217;s kid and think that&#8217;s OK,&#8217; Smith added.</p>
