<p>An eerily familiar background appears in a photograph showing the daughter of the middle-aged man arrested in connection to the Delphi bridge murders. The suspect&#8217;s adult daughter is seen posing in the same spot where the teenage victims were last seen alive. <br>Liberty German, 14, and Abigail William, 13, were murdered in February 2017 after going for a walk. No one has ever been charged for the murder of the two young friends. <br>Richard Allen was arrested on Friday in connection to the Delphi murders.<br>Allen has been booked into jail, but no details of any charges made against him have been shared. A press conference is expected Monday morning.<br>The newly emerged photo shows Brittany Zapanta, the daughter 28-year-old daughter of Richard Allen, 50, posing on the Manon high bridge in the woods outside Delphi, Indiana. The photograph was posted to Facebook by Allen&#8217;s wife Kathy, 50, in 2018, a little over a year after the two girls disappeared in February 2017.</p>

<p>That is the exact location where Libby German and Abigail Williams filmed an unidentified man approaching them on the day of their February 2017 deaths. The man in the image has long been presumed to be their killer.<br>Neither Brittany nor Kathy is suspected of having any connection to the killings, and there&#8217;s no suggestion either woman knew of Allen&#8217;s alleged links to the murders.<br>Libby also shared a snap of herself walking along the same railroad tracks on the day of her murder, with the Snapchat updates causing a sensation that made the case one of the United States&#8217; most notorious unsolved murders. <br>The girls&#8217; bloodied bodies were found about a half mile from the bridge. Allen was arrested on Friday in connection to the murders &#8211; the first big break in the case. </p>

<p>After news of Allen&#8217;s arrest broke on Friday, another disturbing photo of the possible suspect emerged and began to circulate online. <br>The shot showed Allen smiling with his wife, while in the background over his shoulder &#8211; mere feet away &#8211; a police sketch of of the Delphi murder suspect could be seen posted by a notice board on the wall. <br>It is unclear when and where the photo was taken. <br>The version of the suspect sketch in the image was not released until April 2019, so the photo would have been taken at least two years after the murders.<br></p>

<p>Since Allen&#8217;s arrest, it was also revealed that his home was less than two miles from the Delphi train bridge where Williams and German were last seen alive. <br>Indiana State Police said in February they knew who killed the girls, but that they had insufficient evidence to make an arrest. It is unclear whether they were referring to Allen or not. <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11370475/Photo-shows-man-arrested-connection-Delphi-murders-sat-close-police-drawing-suspect.html?ico=related-replace"></a> <br>The arrest of Allen could be the end of a years-long investigation during which numerous possible leads have led nowhere, and police have remained tight-lipped about details of the case.<br>Exactly how the girls died remains unknown to the public, and the state their bodies were discovered in also remains shrouded in mystery.</p>

<p>Over the summer, the details of a search warrant revealed that Libby and Abigail were found covered in blood, and that their killer appeared to have taken a souvenir of some sort from the murder site.<br>The warrant, obtained by the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://art19.com/shows/murder-sheet" target="_blank">Murder Sheet</a> podcast and released to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://fox59.com/indiana-news/search-warrant-delphi-killer-took-souvenir-may-have-staged-murder-scene/" target="_blank">Indianapolis FOX59</a>, offered no further detail on what the souvenir was, although it did say that &#8216;the rest of [the girls&#8217;] clothing was recovered,&#8217; implying that the killer had taken something they&#8217;d been wearing. <br>And sickeningly, the murderer &#8216;staged&#8217; the girls&#8217; bodies in a particular way after killing them, although it remains unclear exactly how he did this. <br>Investigators also believed photographs or videos were likely shot of the grotesque set-up to &#8216;memorialize&#8217; the crime scene. </p>

<p>Law enforcement released several sketch of persons of interest following the February 2017 murders of Liberty German and Abigail William. At some point Richard Allen was arrested as a possible suspect. <br>After the arrest, it was also revealed that his home was less than two miles from the Delphi train bridge where Williams and German were last seen alive. It would have taken Allen about five minutes to drive from his home to the bridge.</p>

<p>The 2017 murder of Abby and Libby became notorious after investigators released chilling footage the girls recorded of a man following and approaching them across the Manon High Bridge.<br>A heavily-built man in jeans and a blue jacket could be seen approaching the girls, and in a brief snippet of audio that was released the man could be heard saying &#8216;Down the hill&#8217; to the girls. <br>The full clip is reportedly 43 seconds long, but its contents are believed to be too disturbing to share in full.<br>The voice in the clip was described as being &#8216;not inconsistent&#8217; with that of Logan, the FBI investigation concluded. A brief clip of the man walking towards the girls on the Monon High Bridge Trail was released too. </p>

<p>Over the years numerous people have have been put forth as possible suspects in the case.<br>Ron Logan, who died in 2020, had long been put forward as a prime suspect. The girls bodies were discovered on his property &#8211; just 1,400 from his house &#8211; and it was revealed over the summer that his alibi for the day of the murder did not line up.<br>His home was searched and he was arrested shortly after the killings, but he was released and never charged.</p>

<p>Kegan Kline of Peru, Indiana, was also named as a suspect in the murders.<br>He is said to have admitted talking to Libby German using a fake Instagram profile called Anthony_shots.<br>28-year-old Kline, who is heavy-set and pasty-faced, used an image of a ripped and muscular young man to trick underage girls into speaking to him.<br>Kline is said to have arranged to meet with Libby on the Delphi High Bridge the day before she was murdered while walking along it.<br>But he is also said to have shared his Anthony_shots password with others, including his father. The suspect said his dad could be a prime suspect in the killings.<br>Kline is being held in jail after being arrested on separate child porn charges in 2020. However, neither he nor his father have been arrested over the Delphi Bridge killings.</p>

He posed as the ripped gentleman online when speaking to the girls<br>But he is also said to have shared his Anthony_shots password with others &#8211; including his father &#8211; and said his dad could be a prime suspect in the killings.<br>Kline is being held in jail after being arrested on separate child porn charges in 2020. Neither he nor his father have been arrested over the Delphi Bridge killings, which police continue to investigate.</p>

<p>James Chadwell, 43, was added as a suspect in 2021 after he was arrested and convicted for luring a nine-year-old girl to his home where he sexually assaulted and strangled her in his basement, 20 miles from where Abby and Libby were murdered. <br>The girl survived, and Chadwell is currently serving a 90-year sentence for the attack.<br>In a media interview in 2021, Chadwell&#8217;s brother characterized him as being &#8216;pure evil,&#8217; and more than capable of the Delphi murders.<br>Authorities are yet to released the alleged connections between Chadwell and the Delphi murders.<br>Thomas Bruce, a former pastor, was charged with fatally shooting one woman and sexually assaulting two others at a Catholic Supply store in St. Louis, Missouri, in November 2018.<br>Bruce was noted for having a similar stature to the man seen in the Delphi video, and also wore similar clothes during his St. Louis crime as the man in the video Libby and Abby took.<br>Indiana police looked into Bruce in connection to the Delphi murders, but no charges have been handed down. He is currently serving life sentence in prison for his St. Louis crime.</p>

<p>Charles Eldridge bore a striking resemblance to a preliminary police sketch of the Delphi suspect. The sketch was later updated to show a clean-shaven man.<br>He was charged with child molestation, and was linked to the Delphi murders because of his strong resemblance to the man in the Delphi video, and a preliminary police sketch investigators had circulated of the suspect. <br>Police say they ruled Eldridge out as a suspect, and that he did not match an updated sketch of the suspect.<br>John Miller, 63, was arrested in 2018 for the 1988 cold-case rape and murder of 8-year-old April Tinsley. Miller lived two hours from Delphi at the time of his arrest. <br>In the years before his arrest, Miller had left numerous notes in public places saying the killer of Tinsley would strike again. <br>&#8216;I kill 8-year-old April Marie Tinsley. I will kill again,&#8217; one note found in 1990 read. <br>No charges have been issued against Miller in relation to the Delphi case.</p>

<p>Daniel Nations, a registered Indiana sex-offender, was arrested in Colorado in September 2017 after threatening hikers with a hatchet. It was also reported that a cyclist was murdered on the same trail around the same time Nations was threatening the hikers. ;<br>Nations was connected to the Delphi murder because of the similarities between the crimes, and because he bore a strong resemblance to the preliminary police sketch of the Delphi suspect. Police cleared nations as a suspect.<a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"></a></p>
