<p>A female staffer with the Tennessee State University football program allegedly drove her car into a player&#8217;s vehicle in an act of raging act of jealousy.<br>Ariel Escobar, 22, the Tigers&#8217; director of football operations and on-campus recruiting, used her car to ram into the rear of the vehicle of TSU tail back Devon Starling while he and his girlfriend were seated inside, in the early hours of December 3, according to the report Starling filed with the Davidson County police. <br>Escobar would later tell police that she wanted Starling to admit to his girlfriend that they had a &#8216;sexual relationship,&#8217; according to court records obtained by <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.tmz.com/2022/12/12/devon-starling-ariel-escobar-arrested-ram-car-staff-tennessee-state-university/?adid=social-twa" target="_blank">TMZ</a>. <br>Court records show Escobar has been charged with 2 felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of misdemeanor vandalism. She&#8217;s scheduled to appear in court in January.<br>Escobar is in her 2nd year as TSU&#8217;s director of football operations and on-campus recruiting. We&#8217;ve reached out to the school for an update on her status with the program, but so far, no word back yet.</p>

<p>Starling alleges that Ariel Escobar was following him in her car outside of his apartment building, prompting him to phone police. After driving around for a bit, Starling returned and parked his car.<br>It&#8217;s then that Escobar allegedly drove into the parking lot, first blocking his car before ramming into it twice. Starling said his car suffered minor damage, and both he and his girlfriend were afraid Escobar would hurt them with her vehicle.<br>Escobar would drive away, but later returned, which is when she was arrested, according to court documents. Police say she denied using her car to block&#8217;s vehicle and informed officers that she wanted the football player to admit to his girlfriend that he had a sexual relationship with her the day before.<br>Police says she also confessed to throwing ketchup on the girlfriend&#8217;s door, which she also admittedly scratched.<br>Starling says he has video of Escobar hitting his vehicle with hers, according to police.</p>

<p>Escobar is due back in court on January 9 after being released from custody on $7,000 bond, but she has not commented on the incident.<br>TSU is aware of their employee&#8217;s arrest, issued a statement that, &#8216;TSU is unable to comment on specific personnel matters or matters potentially implicating student privacy laws.&#8217; <br>Escobar who is into her second year on the job in TSU, has worked in the San Jose State football program in a similar role to her current position, and served as an intern for the NFL&#8217;s Chicago Bears. <br>Devon Starling, a former Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Year, has 540 yards and a touchdown on 116 carries this season.
