<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Colorado dentist has been charged with murder after his wife and mother of his six children was allegedly poisoned to death.<br>James Toliver Craig, 45, of Aurora, drove his wife Angela, 43, to a Colorado hospital at about 8:45pm Wednesday after she complained about headaches and dizziness.<br>In the hospital, Angela&#8217;s condition deteriorated rapidly and she was soon placed on a ventilator in the intensive care unit. She was soon declared brain dead and doctors eventually made the decision to turn off her life support.<br>Her death was investigated by Major Crimes Homicide Unit detectives who initially discovered she was poisoned. Police believe Craig poisoned the protein shakes he made for his wife. <br>He had previously ordered arsenic and cyanide and searched online about how to poison someone. According to Aurora police, he was also, having an affair.<br>&#8216;A warrant for first-degree murder was obtained early Sunday morning shortly after doctors made the decision to take the victim off life support,&#8217; said police.<br>&#8216;It was quickly discovered this was in fact a heinous, complex and calculated murder,&#8217; Police Chief Mark Hildebrand said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Weeks before her death, Craig used a shared computer at his workplace to conduct multiple searches about poison on Google and Youtube such as &#8216;how many grams of pure arsenic will kill a human.&#8217; <br>Other searches included, &#8216;Is Arsenic Detectable in Autopsy. <br>&#8216;Top 5 Undetectable Poisons That Show No Signs of Foul Play. <br>&#8216;How to make poison,&#8217; and &#8216;The Top 10 Deadliest Plants (They Can Kill You),&#8217; according to a police affidavit.<br>Craig allegedly ordered the arsenic online on February 27, and received the package on March 4. <br>Angela was admitted to a hospital with symptoms that aligned with poisoning two days later, and while Angela was in the hospital, a woman with whom Craig had exchanged sexually explicit messages flew from Texas to Colorado to visit him.<br>In the affidavit police wrote: &#8216;It appears James was flying this woman into Denver while his wife and the mother of his children was dying in the hospital.&#8217;<br>Craig told the seller of potassium cyanide that he was a surgeon and intended to use the potassium cyanide for a medical procedure.<br>He proceeded to give the seller his dental license number and work email in order to order the poison. <br>Craig had the cyanide sent to his dental office, where an employee opened the package and saw what he had ordered, before resealing it and giving it to James, who told his business partners that the personal package was a ring he had ordered for his wife.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The couple had been married for more than 20 years and were parents to five girls and a boy, ranging in age from eight to 20. A close family friend described the mother-of-six as a &#8216;phenomenal woman, outgoing, and the best mother you could imagine.&#8217;<br>&#8216;She was very supportive of her husband, even working in his practice during financial difficulties.&#8217;<br>Craig and his practice, Summerbrook Dental, filed for bankruptcy protection in 2021, according to court records.<br>Angela began experiencing symptoms of dizziness and headaches a few weeks ago and told her family.<br>She was examined in hospital at least twice prior to her Wednesday morning admission, but family members thought it was perhaps a sinus infection because she was susceptible to them.<br>The family friend who gave the background revealed that until Angela&#8217;s hospital admission there was no reason to suspect foul play. <br>However, after the hospitalization James apparently was not there for her, making himself scarce: &#8216;He had not been around the family much in the last few days,&#8217; which, &#8216;led to some suspicion,&#8217; said the source.<br><br></p>
