<br>In three separate trials&comma; the rapists and sex offenders convicted for their role in one of Britain&&num;8217&semi;s biggest ever child sex rings have been handed what critics called &&num;8216&semi;lenient jail terms&&num;8217&semi;&comma; 58&comma; was found guilty of counts three of child sexual abuse and sentenced to seven years in prison<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&&num;8216&semi;I commend their bravery in being able to tell us about their abuse&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;I am grateful to everyone who worked so hard to get justice for them&comma; and the jurors who had to listen to such a catalogue of depravity to reach their verdict&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;We have improved the way we work in the Public Protection Unit over recent years putting victims at the heart of our investigations&comma; and this case has given us valuable learning to keep improving&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;I hope that this conviction shows that we are determined to bring offenders to justice and anyone who has suffered or is still suffering sexual abuse&comma; and understanding how it happened&comma; as well as any &&num;8216&semi;lessons to be learned&&num;8217&semi; was being coordinated by Walsall Safeguarding Children&&num;8217&semi;s Board&period;<br>This is expected to be published in due course&comma; with Mr Drover adding&colon; &&num;8216&semi;They are looking at what occurred&comma; and over how long&period;&&num;8217&semi;<br>CPS chief crown prosecutor&comma; Joanne Jakymec&comma; said&colon; &&num;8216&semi;The offenders in this case perpetrated the most appalling catalogue of sexual abuse of the utmost gravity&comma; causing the victims physical harm and extreme psychological harm&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;With the exception of one of the offenders who admitted what they had done&comma; none of the rest have shown the slightest remorse&period;&&num;8217&semi;<br>She praised the &&num;8216&semi;bravery&&num;8217&semi; the trial process was delayed&comma; the senior police officer added&period; <br>Officers conducted more than 70 suspect interviews in their quest to bring the offenders to justice&period;<br>Mr Drover praised the victims&comma; some of whom are now adults&comma; for coming forward and allowing the perpetrators to be brought to justice&period;<br>He said that they had suffered &&num;8216&semi;shocking and abhorrent&&num;8217&semi; abuse&comma; adding&colon; &&num;8216&semi;They have been through a significant amount of trauma&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;It has had a significant and ongoing impact on their physical and mental well being&&num;8217&semi;&period;<br>The police officer continued&colon; of health workers&comma; of school teachers&comma; this to me is a perfect example of how we work together to bring a significant case to the stage where&&num;8230&semi; offenders will be found guilty of significant offenses and receive up to life terms in prison&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;This is an ask from me&comma; for those subject to sexual harm to have the confidence to come forward&comma; talk to teachers&comma; nurses and doctors&comma; police officers&comma; tell us what is going on&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;We spent several years on this investigation&comma; who spent six years working on this case&comma; said that the team endured a &&num;8216&semi;difficult&&num;8217&semi; journey in exposing the pedophile gang&period;<br>Ms Floyd said&colon; &&num;8216&semi;Our hearts go out to the victims&period; From a personal perspective I want to stress how difficult this journey has been and how much courage these young people have shown&period; It&&num;8217&semi;s a particularly sad case and no one has been left unaffected&comma;
