<p>The Louisville Metro Police Department Tuesday released body camera footage of the moment officers confronted rampaging gunman Connor Sturgeon inside the Old National Bank.<br>Sturgeon, 25, been recently told that he had been fired. On Monday morning he entered the Kentucky bank where he was employed at around 8:30 a.m., armed with an AR-15 style-rifle he purchased last week, police said.<br>The disgruntled staffer opened fire at co-workers on the first floor of the building, killing five and injuring nine.<br>Connor Sturgeon shot fleeing woman at the entrance, then opened fire in conference room before returning to lobby for doomed battle with cops.</p>

<p>According to a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://us.cnn.com/2023/04/11/us/louisville-kentucky-bank-shooting-tuesday/index.html" target="_blank">CNN </a>report, a friendly colleague wished Sturgeon a good morning when he walked in.<br>Sturgeon replied: &#8216;You need to get out of here.&#8217;<br>She ran away, and he tried to shoot her in the back, but the gun was still unloaded, and the safety was on.<br>He clicked the weapon into action, and opened fire, shooting her in the back.<br>It remains unclear whether she died from the wounds.<br>At that point, officials said, Sturgeon made his way to a conference room in the back of the bank to carry out his massacre.<br>Police believe the victims, all senior executives at the bank, were targeted.<br>terrified bank staff described scrambling to the vault to hide from the killer as he rampaged through the building.<br>One bank employee said they saw a man with a &#8216;long assault rifle&#8217; fire multiple shots near the conference room.<br>&#8216;He just started firing,&#8217; one unnamed employee said. </p>

<p>In the first video released by cops, officers Wilt and Cory Galloway approach the bank in a police cruiser. As they arrive and park outside the building, Sturgeon opens fire on them, forcing the officers to quickly pull the car back up.<br>Galloway arms himself with his police rifle from the trunk while Wilt only has his police revolver. Galloway confirms shots are being fired inside the bank as they bravely run toward the lobby.<br>LMPD Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey said Sturgeon had a better vantage point than the officers, who could not see into the lobby due to its tinted glass.</p>

<p>As Wilt and Galloway run up the steps and approach the front of the bank, nine shots are heard. Galloway, who is in the lead, rolls over and then drops down the stairs and takes cover.<br>He is separated from Wilt at this point, but it is understood the younger officer was able to fire into the building, despite being shot in the head.</p>

<p>At this point other officers are heard arriving on the scene.<br>Galloway says: “The shooter has an angle on that officer. We need to get up there, I don’t know where he’s at, the glass is blocking him.”<br>Officer Galloway breathes heavily and tries to find an angle to shoot from as further cars and officers arrive on the scene and attempt to rescue Wilt. As they do so Sturgeon fires at them.<br>Around a minute later, more shots can be heard. Galloway repeats “God, don’t have an angle,” then a pane of glass at the front of the bank is seen shattering. <p>As Galloway then moves up the stairs he shouts “suspect down, get the officer.” <br>The officer then steps through the broken glass on the floor into the bank and approaches Sturgeon, who is slumped on the floor with his left hand across his stomach and his rifle lying next to him. <br>The building was then confirmed secure by police by 8:45am, around 15 minutes after the carnage began.</p>

<p>Officials identified the five victims killed in the spree as Tommy Elliott, 63, Jim Tutt, 64, Joshua Barrick, 40, Juliana Farmer, 45, and Deanna Eckert, 57.<br>Two victims remain in the ICU, including officer Nick Wilt, who has undergone brain surgery and is still sedated. LMPD said he is remains in a critical but stable condition. </p>
