The shooter has been identified as Connor Sturgeon, 25, a former employee of the bank.
The ‘lone gunman’ wielding an AR-15-style rifle stormed into a conference room at the Old National Bank shortly after 8.30 am, half an hour before the branch opened to the public.
The shooter killed four people – between the ages of 40 and 64. Sturgeon wounded nine, including two police officers, one of whom remains in critical condition.
The injured cops had engaged the disgruntled bank staffer who shot dead four colleagues before being ‘neutralized’, in a gun battle.
The fatalities were listed as Josh Barrick, 40, Tommy Elliott, 63, Jim Tutt, 64, and Juliana Farmer, 57.

LMPD officers responded to the scene within three minutes of being dispatched and found the shooter still firing, police said.
They exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who died at the scene. It was unclear if the suspect was killed by an officer or died of a self-inflicted gunshot, Humphrey said.
Four people were found dead inside, and eight people are being treated at a local hospital, including two officers who were shot.
One of the officers, a 26-year-old rookie, graduated from the police academy 10 days ago, was shot in the head and in critical condition.
Reports state that the shooter Sturgeon, 23, was a graduate of Floyd Central High School and the University of Alabama. According to his profile on LinkedIn, he interned for three summers at the bank before starting a full-time position in June 2021.

The Louisville Metropolitan Police Department confirmed officers responded to “reports of an active aggressor” after the gunman opened fire in the bank.
Victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital, including a heroic police officer who suffered various injuries, after rushing to the scene.
Dispatchers heard on police scanners have indicated that the shooting occurred on the first floor of the building, in front of Louisville Slugger Stadium — located just hours from Nashville, where a gunman recently opened fire at a Christian school and killed six people.
Officers confirmed the “lone shooter is deceased” and there is “no longer an active aggressor threat” but said the public should continue to avoid the area.

He said there was no active danger to the public at this time. However, members of the public being asked to stay away from the scene.
Bullet holes and shattered glass were spotted outside the building where the gunman opened fire on victims.
The suspect’s vehicle, a Mazda 6, has been located outside the bank – with the FBI currently at the scene.
In a statement, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear confirmed he is heading to the scene of the shooting.
‘Please pray for all of the families impacted, and for the city of Louisville,’ he tweeted.

By 9.30am EST, officers confirmed on Twitter that there are ‘multiple casualties’ from the shooting.
At least a dozen police cars and three ambulances have responded to the area according to witnesses on social media, and stretchers were seen being rolled onto some ambulances. The FBI is also said to be arriving on the scene.
