<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A married Pennsylvania cop is facing felony strangulation charges after being filmed forcibly arresting his mistress while trying to force her out of his trailer.<br>Ronald Keith Davis, 37, was arrested on September 21. <br>He is accused of abusing his authority to forcibly arrest girlfriend Michelle Perfanov in August after a lovers&#8217; tiff, and have her committed to a mental hospital in Williamstown, Pennsylvania. <br>Perfanov was living in his camper van at the time after a four-month romance, but the pair&#8217;s relationship had disintegrated. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rather than simply break up, Davis obtained a petition to have her involuntarily committed to a mental institution. <br>On August 21, he was filmed by a colleague arresting her after chasing her down. <br>He sat on her, lay on her and grabbed her by the legs throughout the ordeal. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perfanov was taken to the hospital and was held for multiple days before being released. <br>Doctors found she was not mentally unstable despite her the cop&#8217;s claims, and that she had only ever threatened suicide to him to get attention. <br>Now, it&#8217;s Davis who is facing charges including false imprisonment, strangulation, recklessly endangering another person and assault. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br>In text messages he told her: &#8216;You&#8217;re done. F**k around and find out. Get out of my house now.&#8217;<br>She had told him she was going to drive &#8216;off a cliff&#8217;, but later told police she was not suicidal, and only said it to &#8216;illicit a reaction&#8217;. <br>Davis was off-duty at the time of the arrest.<br>He had first gone to the station to obtain the involuntary commitment petition, then told his colleagues that he would take matters into his own hands after they were unable to find Perfanov. <br>&#8216;I&#8217;ll take care of it myself,&#8217; he said, before going off to find her. <br>Assisted by a &#8216;civilian companion,&#8217; he then tracked her to the Pennsylvania State Game Lands in Weiser State Forest and attempted to carry her to his car before she began to fight back. </p>

Mich<strong><strong>elle Perfanov,</strong></strong> had no understanding of why she was being arrested by her boyfriend, or why she was then taken to the hospital</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Video released by the DA&#8217;s office shows her lying beneath him, streaked with dirt and nearly half his size, almost freeing herself from his grip, before being slammed back down. <br>She was taken to the hospital and held for five days before being released on August 26. <br>That is when she told cops how their romance fell apart. She told Davis she wanted to move to a new city to start over, which outraged him. <br>&#8216;Taken in context, the texts revealed her frustration with Trooper Davis and his controlling behavior (and her desire to break off the relationship), not a true desire to harm herself,&#8217; the affidavit says. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The criminal complaint accuses Davis of &#8216;knowingly or intentionally impeding the breathing or circulation of the blood of another person by applying pressure to the throat or neck.&#8217;<br>It says he restrained her &#8216;in circumstances exposing the said other person to risk of serious bodily injury&#8217; and in doing so, acted in violation of Section 2902(a)(1) of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, which refers to &#8216;unlawful restraint.&#8217;<br>Davis was charged with felony strangulation, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and official oppression.<br>He was remanded without bail after an arraignment on September 21.</p>
