<p>Twin sisters from Michigan who had been missing for a month after leaving their home in Detroit, last month were found at a hotel with two men much older than them.<br>Police believe their disappearance may have been linked to sex trafficking.<br>The pair of 14-year-olds it was reportedly vanished after <a href="https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2024/03/09/detroit-police-want-help-finding-missing-14-year-old-twin-girls/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">willingly leaving their Detroit home in March 8</a>, to visit their grandmother. This was the second time they had done so, authorities said.</p>

<p>Reported missing on March 8, the runaways were found weeks later, on March 29, after Allen Park police were called to a Comfort Inn hotel when the credit card used in booking a hotel room was determined to have been stolen. The girls happened to be in that room and a police officer recognized them. The same officer previously dealt with the twins when they ran away from home.<br>Allen Park police had body cameras rolling when they discovered the girls inside a hotel room with two men in their 30s.<br>“I know who you guys are, and I know who’s looking for you,” an officer could be heard saying.<br>“You don’t know me, so stop acting like you do,” one of the twins told the officer.<br></p>

<p>It wasn’t immediately clear how the girls knew the men, or why they were together.<br>One of the men, Marcus Peoples, 30, of Highland Park, was arrested and charged with computer crime, credit card fraud and harboring runaway children &#8211; the credit card used to book the hotel room was stolen.<br>The card belonged to a Nebraska teenager named Abigale, who got an alert text from her bank. She immediately told her mother, who then called the hotel and the Allen Park Police Department.<br>&#8220;I was shocked,&#8221; Abigale said. &#8220;It turned out to be so much more. I thought it was just a stolen debit card.&#8221;<br>It wasn’t clear if the other man was facing arrest, as well.</p>

<p>Authorities are still investigating how the vulnerable girls ended up at the hotel, and where they’ve been for the past month. While it’s still early in the investigation, officials believe it’s possible that this may have been an attempt at trafficking the young girls.<br>According to police, the girls did not want to leave the men they were with inside the hotel room, but the sisters have reunited with their family. <br>A newly released body-camera video from Allen Park police shows when the sisters were found on April 8. One officer responding to the scene for the debit card fraud happened to recognize the missing twins.<br>&#8220;I know who you guys are, and I know who&#8217;s looking for you, okay? And we&#8217;re going to have to solve that tonight,&#8221; an officer can be heard saying in the released footage.<br>When asked why they ran away from home, one of the girls told police, &#8220;don&#8217;t worry about it, it. That&#8217;s none of your business.&#8221;</p>
