<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A woman who went viral for pulling down a teenager&#8217;s mini skirt in the lobby of a steakhouse in St George, Southwestern Utah, has been charged with sexual battery. <br>In a viral video posted on social media the woman is seen identifying herself to a group of teenage girls as a state employee who holds a position in the state Attorney General&#8217;s office, after allegedly pulling down one of their miniskirts at Sakura Japanese Steakhouse on Saturday night. <br>Ida Ann Lorenzo, 48, now dubbed &#8216;Utah Karen&#8217;, told the alleged victim that if she has to watch her &#8216;a** cheeks hanging out again&#8217; and see her pubic hair, she would call Child Protective Services. The &#8216;Karen&#8217; later told police that she intended to file an indecent exposure report. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The alleged assault unfolded in the lobby of a restaurant in St. George on Saturday night. Lorenzo now dubbed &#8216;Utah Karen&#8217; walked up to a complete stranger to pull down her mini skirt. <br>The alleged victim&#8217;s friends can be heard defending her, telling Lorenzo she should not touch her and that she is over 18. Incidentally, the target of Lorenzo&#8217;s wrath is 19.<br>Lorenzo was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane on a single Class A charge of sexual battery, according to court documents filed on Wednesday. She has now been released. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The incident came to the authorities attention after Lorenzo reported it to police herself on the same night. <a href="https://www.abc4.com/news/southern-utah/karen-in-viral-video-facing-sexual-battery-charge-for-pulling-down-teens-skirt-in-utah-restaurant/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.abc4.com/news/southern-utah/karen-in-viral-video-facing-sexual-battery-charge-for-pulling-down-teens-skirt-in-utah-restaurant/">Lorenzo told police</a> that the teenager&#8217;s skirt was &#8216;hiked above her vagina and butt,&#8217; exposing her pubic hair.<br>She also reportedly explained that she pulled the skirt down as young children were present and the restaurant staff did not act. <br>After footage of the incident was posted online Lorenzo phoned 911 again to claim that a &#8216;threat on her life&#8217; had been made as she is a state employee, according to the police report seen by ABC.<br>Lorenzo told police she first asked the young woman to pull her skirt down but that she was ignored, and therefore acted herself. <br>When asked why she thought it was appropriate to touch the girl, Lorenzo reportedly replied that she only touched her skirt. <br>Before she was arrested, Lorenzo denied touching the teen’s skin, repeating that she thought the teen was nude underneath the skirt. Police told Lorenzo that even if the teen was naked under the skirt, her actions still meet the criminal elements of sexual battery.<br>On Monday the alleged victim contacted police claiming she was sexually assaulted. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The 19-year-old victim told police she was &#8216;startled&#8217; when Lorenzo came up behind her, touched her buttocks and pulled down her skirt, leaving her feeling &#8216;violated&#8217;. <br>Several witnesses filed corroborating reports, ABC4 reported. <br>One of the witnesses uploaded a <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/tiktok/index.html">TikTok</a> video earlier this week sharing her experience. <br>&#8216;She comes up to my friend and reaches under her skirt, yanks it down and then squeezes her sides, because she is wearing a crop top, and says &#8220;you&#8217;re probably under age, you probably shouldn&#8217;t be wearing that&#8221;.&#8217;<br>According to Snow&#8217;s account the restaurant manager asked Lorenzo to sit down during the filmed altercation with the group of teenagers. <br>&#8216;It was like a fever dream, it [felt] like it was fake, this is not actually happening. This is not real life,&#8217; Snow added. </p>
