There is no sign of mistreatment,&#8217; Brandão said, as quoted by Brazilian news outlet G1. <br><br></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Uberlândia Civil Police chief, Marcos Brandão, FM O Tempo 91.7 radio that investigators learned of Alves&#8217; whereabouts after camera snapped her photo after she failed to pay at a highway toll booth.<br>Inside her home, she also had a pink baby bath, a stroller, a baby car seat, as well as formula to feed a newborn baby and pink Disney toys. <br>&#8216;She bought several items for the baby, such as diapers and a stroller, which suggests that she planned the events,&#8217; the police said. &#8216;She did not show any motivation or whether she was going to keep the baby, register it in her name or give it to a third party.&#8217; <br>Alves was charged with kidnapping and faces up to eight years in prison if she is found guilty, because the victim is under the age of 18. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Surveillance video showed the suspect stepping out of a red vehicle at 11:18 pm wearing a lab coat, cap, face mask, gloves and yellow backpack as she walked towards the clinic on Tuesday.<br>At 11:46 pm, the woman was spotted walking next to a hospital worker with the baby stuffed in the backpack.<br>Nine minutes passed before security cameras showed her walking towards the car with the baby in one of her hands before speeding away.<br>The baby&#8217;s father, Édson Ferreira, previously told the station that Alves went to their room where his daughter and his wife were recovering following the 8 pm delivery by cesarean section.<br>Along with the security guards, they were &#8216;fooled&#8217; by the woman&#8217;s behavior during the five minutes she spent in the room. </p>

She came in and touched my wife&#8217;s breasts to see if she had milk,&#8217; Ferreira recalled. <br>&#8216;She said she was a pediatrician and that she was going to take the baby to feed her.<br>&#8216;Minutes later, I saw that my little girl hadn&#8217;t come back, and that&#8217;s when we realized that she had been taken.&#8217;<br>The Military Police said the suspect placed the baby in the backpack and walked out of the hospital without being detected.<br>&#8216;It&#8217;s a relief just to see my daughter again,&#8217; Ferreira said. &#8216;There&#8217;s no price I can pay. May justice be served, may this woman really be arrested and this never happen to anyone else.&#8217;<br>On her social media networks, Alves states that she had been teaching part-time at Uberlândia Federal University since May. <br>She also listed that has been a full-time professor at Goiás State University Faculty of Medicine since 2019.</p>
